I'd argue that Krispy Creme has better donuts and yes Krispy Creme has locations here.  Tim Hortons however is literally the largest fast food chain in Canada, it has more market share here than McDonalds.  Hence why Canadians will happily make tongue in cheek self-depreciating Tim Hortons jokes.  And yes, the Timbit is nothing but a donut hole.

No like most coffee chains Tim Hortons focuses more on sandwiches for their meal options but the menu has slowly expanded.  But it's not comparable to a burger chain.  We have McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King and the like for that.

I'd agree about the classic glazed Krispy Creme doughnut. But I still really like Tim Horton's doughnuts. In particular, the Apple Fritter, Honey Dip, and Chocolate Dip.

 

I hate honey curlers.

 

Canada definitely has national pride and patriotism. But it's not the same as in countries like the US.

 

I love my country. I'm very patriotic. But I also welcome newcomers to my country because I know they make us stronger.

I've also noticed that Canadians are, for sure, more willing to friendly fun at their own country than American's would be.  American's can self-satirize for sure but you'll always see a few who will jump in 'Now wait just a second, I take offence to that portrayal'.
