I think I was using 3 256MB sticks.

I've only got 2x128MB sticks (PC133), 1 very small 32MB stick (PC100, and 1 32MB stick (PC66) that is covered in chips and looks like the 1GB sticks (with out the ECC of course) available. But at least Lubuntu runs on it with 144MB to spare.

Well considering its one of the early Pentium 4s, which were kind of a failure....

Yeah. Apparently it didn't affect the original owners of the machine though, the last updates I saw applied to its old OS (Windows XP, I downgraded it to Windows 98 for retro gaming but it has no sound so that failed) were from October 2008.

Ya know, when Core 2s were the hottest things on the Intel block.

Picked up this bad boy from the thrift shop, just €4,50 :)

question is, does it even work. If you can't see the screen very well, its on it way out, if it does work at all. Those are notorious for having fail prone caps. I have two of them, and they both don't work.

Old shit no one cares about but me.

  • 4 weeks later...

ah! I was looking for this thread, I'm ravaging through my old hardware parts to throw them away and took a few pics :D

Here's the radeon 9600 I've used up to december 2014 in my main rig, yesterday I was setting it up for my father to use (with linux mint) but it died (bios beeps and when it boots lasts until you play a youtube video). Rip in pepperonis, I had to use an older radeon 9200 :D

and here we can see an old IBM mechanical keyboard, I've cleaned it with soap and alcol, it was filthy, bought it in a trash store for 2€ I wonder if it does work, it has a strange connector ethernet like not ps2 nor usb, I'll probably open a thread about it:

Ew, a non-dual-DVI DD.

Why'd you retire the Vapor-X? I can see retiring the DD, but not the precious...

LOL, actually, the DD overclocks like a beast, ( loud as hell ) but I have gotten it stable at 1275 on the core clock and 1725 on the memory clock. I love the beasty look of the vapor-X though, it never overclocked very well but the shear look of it is sweet :D .

Really the only reason they got retired was that I bought dual EVGA 970 FTW+'s and don't have any real use for them anymore, but can't seam to part with them.

Mine can't do 1100MHz at a 15% power limit. It crashed after a while at 1000MHz with a 7.5% power limit (averaged out between two different sets of runs).

You're throwing that beautiful AMD CPU away? :(

EDIT: And the graphics card, floppy drive, and optical drive?!?

EDIT2: I can't even do this anymore. You made me sad with that album since you're gonna throw that away.

Kept the cpu (but it was unstable), the floppy, the psu. The mobo was gone and kept setting wrong bios values, about the optical drives: the writers are busted, I used to burn a lot of cds (I even found the recepit 110€ from 2004 :D) and they worn out, one of them was a common cd-rom which was useless, plus I already have 4 more optical drives, 2 that I'm currently using and that work perfectly fine :)

I think you should send them to spwath.
