I snagged a nother from my schooll lol. (perks of being nice to tthe tech department) But its a ecc board, so I have to tuse my 666mhz ddr2, not my 800mhz.

I've got one of those, it's not very good but it's a thing for sure. Has a Core2Duo something or other (E5200 or E5300?) and 4GB DDR2 800 in it. Whole thing works as far as I know, just pulled from my stepmom's old PC. I even still have the original box in my basement with some of the materials and the IO plate is with it too. Drop me a message if you're interested.

Sounds like a bad solder joint back there or yeah something is shorting. I've used the craft glue E6000 as potting compound for electronics to isolate them from water or electrical shorts. You can put a blob on there and then using a disposable brush spread it out over an area like conformal coating to protect parts of the board.

Yeah, I was hinking of doing something like that, but I want to check first to make sure its not something else, before I put glue on the board.

I'm honestly not a big fan of them; always prefered the 3dfx V2 1000 over the box for the Creative V2.

I don't like the picture "raw" on the box. I rather like the graphic / design on the box like Voodoo 4500 and 5500, it's nice design :)

I've gotten my uncle's old (Morgan) Duron 1000 home. I luckily have an example of how to unlock it with the Athlon 1800+. Practising will be done on the Sempron 2800+ first as I want it on a 400Mhz FSB.

Look bottom left of the Athlon, next to "L1".

And the reduction in die size going from .18 micron to .13 micron...with 4x the L2 cache...
