Well, tonight I moved the Micron system into it's refurbished chassis. I cleaned it up and painted it all grey. Moved all the parts in and cable managed it. Still a couple things I need though... the proper I/O Shield although I think I can modify one of the old Compaq ones to work and I need the plastic for in the front that holds the switches and leds for the front panel as that still has the big hole cut in it.

Your collection of retro tech never ceases to amaze me. I'm in awe every time I watch that episode of Tech Hoarders xD

That's a very nice looking system! It looks to me like the PSU is lacking a bit of support, is that me or just the way the picture looks?

Quote or tag me( @Crunchy Dragon) if you want me to see your reply

Haha, thank you! I wouldn't say it's terribly well supported but it does have 2 lips along that back side of the case to support it along that edge. It is only mounted with two screws though, as that is all that there are holes for in the chassis. It's not as supported as I would like but it's not going anywhere either.

That 386 and HDD were still being used in 2006. Lithium bios battery packs FTW.

I might be able to beat you with a Trident video card that either has ISA 16-bit or VLB.

Pictures will be available soon, don't worry...

Wasn't the 2D performance a crapshoot? Depending on which 2D chip the card had?

Only on the later ones, with single planar, these were solid,

Got my step mothers PC in the mail today and oofffff it's rough inside. Whatever I do with it I'll need to setup some positive pressure with dust filtration. I'm thinking maybe a Ryzen APU setup, not sure just yet. Whatever it is needs to be durable like super dust tolerant and very very long lived. As far as she's going to ever know I've put it together from spare parts, but nah I'm building her something properly good to last another decade. Same crappy case so it's all gotta be low heat low power low airflow.
