That would make sense. I haven't heard of or seen that many PCI-X based GPUs.

They did, I used to use them in my old recording studio in the late 90's, they freed up board slots for running dual monitors and multiple protools cards.

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

A 2 GB dimm was a lot back then. If you had two of those, you would max out the memory capacity of a 32-bit system.

Dragged this machine down to setup Windows on, as I actually haven't touched it since I brought it home. Still had an old install of 98 on it. Gonna install 95C I think.

It's a Hewitt Rand tower with a K6 266mhz, 128mb Ram, 2Gb HDD and I think a S3 graphics card of some sort. Still have to dive into it deeper yet but it works!

The top Disc drive doesn't want to open though, so will have to replace that. Good thing that I have lots of spares haha!

Meet some old Intel classics:

- Pentium D 945 "Presler" SL9QB, 3.4Ghz, Socket 775

- Pentium 4 "Willamette" SL5TK, 1.7Ghz, Socket 478

- Pentium 3 "Coppermine" SL4CB, 866Mhz, Socket 370

- Celeron "Tualatin" SL5ZJ, 1.3Ghz, Socket 370

I ordered a couple of ECS video cards because i didnt even know ECS made video cards. Guess they did, mainly Geforce 8 series and a couple of random bits from fermi and they were all over the place. They didnt make every card for every gen, but theres like, a gtx 660 and a gts 250 randomly thrown in there by ECS.

What i saw was this:

Which is their 8800gt.

Which is literally cooled by an arctic acellero s1 passive cooler with two fans glued to it.

Truly a thing of beauty.

From my understanding, basically all of the modern dual-fan graphics card coolers made today are based off the Accelero S1 there (the twin fans were a clip-on accessory they also offered), and I think the reference blower-design coolers used by Nvidia and AMD are also based off of an earlier Arctic Cooling design.  I've had the original Accelero Twin Turbo mounted to an 8800GT for close to 10 years now, and not only has it kept the card cool, but it's also barely made a sound doing it!

I have an old copper-full motherboard. Can anyone tell me which Pentium processor this is? I have no idea.

The Motherboard is an ASUS TX97,  from the mid to late 90's the CPU would have been a Socket  5 or 7 series. so it would have been a AMD K5 75/90 mhz (586 class) to an Intel P5SC Pentium Class MMX 233 mhz

I do BAD THINGS to my old Hardware.. I have not owned a desktop computer in a lot of years.
This is how I delete old Hardware. As a Gun Owner, I tend to blow them up, or put really big holes in them..

I don't have it any more, but once I was given a dead PC, and the CPU was a Pentium III slotted with the words "engineering sample" stamped on it.

Just curious, what exactly is that?

A very old micro webserver. Obsoleted long ago, but a cool piece of Sun history. I was considering making it part of my network, having it as an Intranet, but since my web-coding skills suck, I really haven't done anything to/with it.

Gotcha, really, its not to much to tackle.  you can find fully built out CSS and just tweak it to what you want it to look like, if you wanted to get that gem up and running.  :)
