Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

:D

Finally understand the appeal of Tomica stuff, but I musnt buy any more. The lure of 1:18s grows.

Yes, we get snow in the mountain areas. My foothill community gets snow too. Its not  uncommon to have freeze conditions during the winter.

wow, i've always thought it was warm all year long. up here, in the valley, it's somewhat unfair compared to the warm year round bay area. it's super duper hot in the summer, above 100 for solid weeks at a time, yet in the winter it gets down below freezing. i hate the weather here really.

depending on what you are doing, building a harness for something like that isn't too bad. if you go with an engine swap you should get a harness with that, then interior wiring is pretty simple. could get a manual and mimic what the manufacture did... least thats what I wouuld do

i guess, since it's a late 80s car, where EFI was still kinda in its infancy in toyota trucks, you could possibly half ass a harness.

this review http://www.turbochargerreview.com/turbo-reviews/borg-warner-s366-turbo/ says it's a 9.5 out of 10, but they didn't say anything about reliablity, but they gave it a 9.5, so i guess its reliable? and how much is this guy offering for this turbo, since they aren't that cheap anyway.

He wants 700 for it, but I've been enjoying the low to mid range boost of my frakenturbo(k03s housing with K04 internals) but I want more boost for this coming spring

i mean if this new turbo can increase boost as well as provide it down low and mid, then go for it. that is, if your engine is able to put up with this increased boost.

What engine does your Jetta have. 1,8t or something as franken as the turbo?

I also own a a 2001 Jetta, or a Bora here. No intention to turbo the 1,6 though, as it's not really feasible.

its kinda weird how you did this with a fwd jetta instead of an equivalent 1.8l a4 or something, with awd. you could have much better launches with that car tbh but you can do whatever i guess.

the b5 platform for the motor I would of wanted is 99 for the AEB motor cause its the golden child of the a4 1.8t's and it would of cost me almost double or tripple to do everything then what i did for the jetta

4 motion is only the r32 unless I wanted to hack my car in half (which I'm still debating)

I'll be getting my first car in like 10 months (so close yet so far) and cars with the 1.8T fit my budget. (Golf, A4, Passat, you name it)

We've established that planes are ok at times. There is a dedicated thread but some of us are interested in planes
