Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

@bcredeur97 it might just be my luck this finals week, but i think you were right when you said "what might go wrong will go wrong" on finals week. it's only monday, and i already managed to cause even more internal pain when i accidentally stabbed my open wound with the tip of a pencil, and to add injury to that, the one day i don't bring full water bottles to school, the entire school drinking water system is chlorinated, unsafe to drink. i literally was dehydrated the whole day, and even threw up. :/ it's only monday, and shit has gone so wrong.

This is a car thread, and I am a car noob. Does anyone know what a turbocharger does, and how it works? Dumb it down for me, I don't know much about cars.

@MEC-777 How would you go about setting up a way to electronically control the boost from turbos, especially depending on what gear your vehicle is in?

Im happy with it so far. Have to keep driving it to get it charged back all the way up. Its been sitting sense october on the shelf. Cranks a little slower than the old one but its still not topped back all the way up i think. I figure by the end of the week after i grive to the coast again i'll be able to say for sure (other than not going dead after sitting for two days) if there is any difference in day to day operation from a lead acid battery.

lol I always make sure when I get one that I grab it off the shelf and I look at all the dates and find the newest one (so far I've been successful at grabbing ones made the exact same month I buy it)

What would be faster between a 2008 base acura tl vs a 2002 base audi s4 sedan?

(both straights and curves)

the s4 I think would be faster at both, but im not 100% sure. The S4 would for sure be better in the curves because the TL by default is optimized for comfort while the S4 actually has sporty suspension. (this is assuming the suspension isn't blown because it's old enough to be blown lol)

It could also all come down to tires, but im gonna assume the same tires here

acura has never swapped suspention, I dont know about wheels. s4 has new suspention and new wheels

well wheels won't make a big difference, the tires on the other hand will (in the curves)

but stock for stock I think the Audi would win. It would probably be fairly close though. The audi does have shorter gearing even though it's down on power, also AWD

apparently the acura has aftermarket turbo, but has probably never been tuned for it.

I know I'd beat him specifically on a curvy course in the S4 :P

as for straight line, the Audi would probably win because the TL would blow up first LOL

stock for stock, S4 hands down. a base 2008 TL is slower than my accord, and my accord would lose to the S4. With the turbo, who knows?

not really. PSI doesn't mean much honestly. the size of the turbo, if/how it's tuned, if it has an LSD, there are way too many factors in this. :/
