Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

7000 from my C2 with a rather aggressive red light flashing at that rpm :P

I could probably get 8500 out of mine with forged rods and stiffer valve springs but ehhh it's kinda just stupid unless you have ITB's and a free flowing exhaust at that point. Would be awesome for autocross tho.... Don't have to shift lol

Also the tach only goes up to 8000...

Also had a bit of a fun conversation about my car today. One of the guys at my job noticed me getting out of it.

"Hey man! Nice car."

-"Thank you"

"Have you had it long? Haven't seen it before"

-"About a year actually. But its a chevy so i share custody with a local garage"

*He laughs*

*I cry*

Is there any car out there you can drive aggressively 100% of the time and just doesn't break?

Lol... I always feel like I have to Grandma drive everyday to make up for beating on the car at autocross just to preserve it lol

I need a dedicated race car..

I need a dedicated race car..

I only drove it aggressively 10 times.. tops.. (Although donuts did not help my axle)

I poke it a bit on empty roads but other than that i'm pretty gentle with it.

I want to autocross it so bad now. There is no autocross scene here at all though.

I too grandma drive my fun car because no race car.

If the interview goes well tomorrow i might be able to get a winter car though.

Which would make me a bit less anxious about throwing cammy around.

I've had a few moments where i've gone

"Ooh.. I want to take that dirt road up through here. Get the back out a bit............... But i don't want to ride the bus again.."

4 years ago today I built my PC, and the only thing I've upgraded in that time internally is my GPU. Guess after the Saab is back up and running it's time to look into a new PC

Saab ended at 6K

Once it's back up and running I want to do cams, pistons, full exhaust, and intercooler. Do a conservative tune (Maybe an additional 40HP from where it is now) and call it a day power wise.

Then eventually suspension. After that it's solid and time to save for the R ThirtyPoo

Or at least a Nissan Laurel / Cefiro. Something like that. Worst case scenario, 180SX

Couple of odd questions:

1. Do fireproof safes lose their "fire-proofness" overtime?

And

2. What's a good safe to mount in a car for transporting (in our case) backup tapes to an off-site location?

Temecula? Boy, that's about a 7 hour drive down in SoCal. I live in NorCal. I would prefer you come up north and check out shows like blox evolution and wekfest, but not sure how willing you'd be to drive all the way up here. if you're willing  to drive to san jose for wekfest next year, i'm willing to make the 2 hour drive in whatever i have at that point and meet up.

1. Depends what makes it fireproof.

2. Anything large enough you can get shaped foam in to.

I'm tempted to get an Alfa Romeo with the 1.6 Twin Spark engine (8 spark plugs on a 4 cylinder, twice the cost when changing them, oh well), but all the shit surrounding Alfa Romeo due to their lack of reliability is kind of making me steer away from those...

Anyone here familiar with Alfa Romeo's / Twin Spark engines maintenance? (costs, problems and all that?)

The 8350 struggles constantly in GTA and Forza, which is basically all I play

Gonna be chilling with JSRCars out in Temecula. Sent them a few videos of my Saab and they think it's sick af and want to race their cars against it and just chill in general

(350Z, Mustang GT, TC, E36, Corrado, Elantra GT, and a TDI MK4 Jetta among a few other cars)

But I'd be down, I mean, to Temecula is already a 30 Hour drive one way (2100 Miles) Another few hours won't kill me. Would just have to find a place in Cali to do an oil change while there

We havent had one, but 2 of the 3 we test drove broke down on the test drives. Lovely cars to look at, less so to own is the general consensus

Here's the difference the new axle made.

And the video starts with me holding my phone against the steering wheel with my thumb.

And then by the end of the "before" part i stuck it in the sunglasses holder on the sun visors.

I'll keep  the video up for maybe a day or two. Then i'm taking it down. Even unlisted its bound to attract haters.
