so it has been about a year since the realase of the xbox one x,and as we heard it is the strongest console avalible with 6 terafloops of performance and 8 cores clocked at 2.4ghz

so is there a way that you can mine on it and if so how much should the earnings be expected to be?

you could but you would need to get a new OS on it. they did it with a few hundred PS3s a while ago.

I see people saying that isn't realistic, but I think that is a really interesting idea. An RX580 today typically goes for $400 and the XBox One X goes for slightly over $400 on sale, while their GPU performance in terms of teraflops is about the same. It would take quite a bit of effort, but I certainly think that is plausible if they can somehow bypass XBox security, though extremely unlikely.

If you RIP out the HDD, install Linux, and make it like a computer, yes it could mine, but then you wouldn't be able to use it as a console. It wouldn't be that much more profitable than most GPUs on PC now anyway. For starters, that 8 core CPU is not good for mining (if you notice you don't see people mining with Ryzen 1700 or 1800s), and the GPU is most comparable to an RX 580. If we say your mining ethereum card produces around 20-25MH/s (an RX can typically make around 24MH/s not overclocked but something tells me the GPU in an Xbox One X would match) and used around 200 Watts and you would make around just about $6 to $12 per month.

Actually r7 processors and threadrippers are very good at monero and cryptoknight, so there are people mining on those. r7 1700 makes about 1 dollar a day at current rates,

BUT that xbox definately doesnt use the r7 series processors, more like old amd a series.

Even if it did it would take nearly 16 and a half months, to break even on the total cost of the Xbox One X.
