I was obviously joking but I think anyone who cheats their fellow human being, regardless of the medium, is a reprehensible human being and deserving of facing real world consequences.  

 

I agree that people should be punished by the game devs but there are some people that just continue to re-offend because they know that the game that they are cheating has no authority to pursue them with real world consequences.  Their response to game devs, is essentially: "ooooh what are you gonna do?  Ban me, I'm shaking in my boots."  The devs can only do so much.

 

It appears the majority of people participating in this post are perfectly okay with that and I find it mind boggling.

 

And I should also be clear as to what I mean by cheating... I'm not talking about people who find a glitch and exploit that glitch... that is on the devs... I'm talking solely of people who are downloading third party programs to give them a clear and distinct competitive edge.

Im not arguing about not punishing people because cheating still needs punishment, but sending them to fucking jail is way to fucking far. 

 

Banning account will inconvenient them is still a valid way to deter cheating. Banning an IP for a set amount of time will do that also. There is only so much that can be done about cheating but cheating is so few a far between especially when it comes to the scale of these games it honestly doesnt matter enough to justify any real life consequence. 

 

I actually dont know why people do cheat as the fun is completely gone from the game at that point but the Chinese gov. is fucking retarded for wasting time and money over this BS. I mean how ridiculous would it be if you went to say a friendly Monopoly competition (no prize) and mid game found out someone was using loaded dice and cops came up and threw the guy in the cop car and left. This is honestly no different.
