Should i get an xbox one s/x

XiiXii808

I have a PC that i used to use for gaming until i got a ps4 pro and i've been doing 90% of my gaming on that and use my PC for music production and graphic design but the xbox has exclusive games like gears of war and also backwards compatible with older xbox gen games. Is it worth getting the Xbox or should i not since i have the ps4 pro and my pc (i7 6700, RX 480 8GB, 16GB ram etc etc)

I was mainly thinking of getting it for the backwards compatibility but im not sure now.

I have an i7 rig with a 980 Ti and I'm still going to buy the Xbox One X when it comes out... I'm one of those people.

I really really love 144Hz gaming but there are some games a console is worth buying for.

I'd look into getting an Xbox 360 S or E if you're doing it for backwards compatibility. Both of those are compatible with all X360 games, and you can still find unopened ones at some Walmarts.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

I switched to the PS platform from Xbox. The limited exclusives are not good enough nor are there even as many to the PS platform. I've played and finished all gears of War games and IMO, backwards compatibility isn't something to drool over. I wouldn't get a new system for one minute feature that it has. Unless you have cash to burn, I'd use the money for more games or pc upgrades. Or maybe get yourself a good anime body pillow.

I've used Xbox and PS since I got into video games. I've always chose Playstation and always will after using Xbox for 12 years.

Did you seriously recommend a 360?

That's not the only reason why he's getting an Xbox, is just for the backwards compatibility.

A 360 right now is only $40-70 more expensive than a used Xbox One S or a new Xbox One (original)...

I dunno, I got an original Xbox for $80 on Craigslist, still serving me for a few months. I play COD MWR and a few others with friends, I also do plan on publishing some game development work on it.

The OP's main reason is for backwards compatibility. Please don't be so ignorant as not to read the whole original post. You're correct with pricing as xbone 1s are dirt cheap.

What exclusives? Not picking up on you, but isn't it all on PC already as it should? if you want exclusives a PS4 clearly makes more sense from this point of view, OP really should think twice here.

Being that he already has one it makes no sense to me personally, would get a switch for lulz.

I gotta go with this.  The PS4 has a good range of true exclusives, gaming experiences that are only on PS4.  For the Xbox the exclusive list is REALLY thin.  It's really just Halo and a handful of other titles.  Most 'exclusives' are Microsoft exclusives and on the Window's store with even Forza titles coming out on Windows Store now, but even that's not a huge list.

I'd consider it as a 4K BluRay player and look at the games as a nice bonus. Can't even think of any xbox one exclusives to be honest. I was gonna say Gears 4 but that's on pc as well.

The Halo series is an exclusive.

Off the top of my head, I think there are still a few exclusives on the Xbox One: Halo 5, Sunset Overdrive, and some older Forza games (but latest entries are on PC as well).

Since you have a PS4 and PC, if the above doesn't strike your fancy enough, I'll echo the suggestion of going for a 360 if you have find one cheap. The backwards compatibility is a work in progress (licensing is an issue) so you may find a lot that's still not playable on the Xbox One. I'm not sure if 4K UHD Bluray overshadows that.

xbox1x has greatest range of backwards compatibility

its UWP platform

if you join microsoft visual studios then you can get a dev kit for coding apps/games on your pc then testing on your xbox

everyone can be a devoloper

Xbox exclusives are on pc now for the most part so I wouldn't recommend an xbox for that reason

I'd look at it in the same way. I don't know about prices overseas but here a UHD BluRay player costs around $300-600AU new. You can get a 500GB XBOne S with a game for about $380AU or a 1TB SKU with one game for $430AU. I mean I don't know how good it is as a UHD BluRay player but for the price and especially given that you can also play games on it? It's not a bad option if you are after a UHD BluRay player.

Xbox One S is my primary disc player. I think it is good. You'll have to buy a remote for it separately if you prefer that over using the provided controller or using the mobile app. The big deal breaker the One S had when it was launched was the lack of Dolby Atmos support. But I've read they've since patched that in, so I'm not really sure what you can get from other UHD BD players over the One S that justify their pricing.
