Icons are a scourge upon the Earth, and I will not allow them on my desktop. You have a little launcher bar on the taskbar for you most used programs, and the rest can be easily accessed in the start menu.

I want to use Rainmeter but I don't have skills and the community made ones don't interest me and also I cant find something that is free that can easily replace desktop items

 

Also I have not been bothered to re activate windows after upgrading CPU and motherboard after months
