Razer introduces their first audiophile headset

gunsman

Today, Razer is revealing a new pair of headphones called the Razer Kraken Forged Edition. Priced at $300, Razer is trying to push into the more audiophile grade gear. The headphones feature custom tuned 40mm neodymium magnet drivers, a sleek aluminum finish, leatherette ear cushions and a swap able cable system, which allows you to attach the included in-line microphone.

Me personally, i am not an audiophile. I don't really care for something like this. I'm all set with my mid range headset. I can't really tell the difference between a $500 pair of headphones and a $100 pair of headphones, i just want some bass and i'm all set. It is interesting to see them go this route, going away from their more gamer oriented products. Hopefully there will be reviews soon to test whether this is worth the $300.

Well they will probably sound like Beats and just be another pair of fashion headphones. They are sexy as heck though.

it's a looker, but I seriously doubt I can take razer seriously trying to do something decent, probably will sound ok but not for $300, considering I could get for $100 more HE 400/HD 600 which are really awesome

Looks great, probably doesn't sound the part. I can only assume this will be like Skullcandy and Beats.

I read the title and my eyes physically rolled into the back of my head. I can see my spine.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

It says forged edition so it must be good right????? But seriously, Razer is really making themselves the "designer" brand of gaming peripherals. I'd much rather go to companies like Corsair who are now providing products of equal quality and actually having decent customer service

there is no fucking way this will be good, it'll cost around $500 and will be made out of cheap and shitty plastic. razer is overpriced peace of shit  seriously. my brother bought 4 different headsets that were all razer. all broke after a few months not to mention the sound quality was terrible with all of them. i know this is a audiophile headset but still. its razer

Woah guys, hold on. Nobody of you could have looked at them before, so shut up and wait till someone tells you if they're shit or good.

Being prejudiced won't help anyone, you shouldn't buy such expensive stuff anyways without looking at a few reviews.

Isn't that pretty poor specs? I'm no audiophile, but that doesn't seem very impressive.

You can tell I'm not an Audiophile :D

edit: after reading some posts on head-fi, I can see what you mean -- the craftsmanship is more important
