RGB Cars?... Almost, McLarens new 'sensation' making lights

Ok, so we all know everything is getting the RGB treatment, from mice to mousemats to PC's and now.... Cars. McLaren will include a 'lightning' system for the engine bay in their latest and upcoming car. While not strictly RGB, it is the first manufacturer to use this sort of lighting (to my knowledge) to this effect.

LINK: http://www.topgear.com/car-news/first-look/mclarens-new-supercar-has-40-litre-bi-turbo-v8

'Sense of occasion (or posing, if you prefer) has been taken into consideration too, with red ambient lighting illuminating the engine bay when the driver unlocks the car. ' is what TopGear have to say about it. Lighting has been used in cars for years for puddle illumination when exiting and entering cars, and yes people do put 'neons' in cars but this is a now a manufacturer installed feature. Lights inside the car, for the most part, serve a purpose, while this is very much like us putting lights into our PC cases... to show off whats inside :)

Is this a sign of things to come? Will we see more manufactures follow suit?

Lol not vanilla LED strips. I've seen a couple civics do it in my area and it didn't look right.

I meant LED bulbs the size of headlights underneath the car. Aligned neatly in a row on all four sides

And here I thought the whole ricers and tuners thing was over in the early 2000s.

Same here! but someone asked me, will we in ten years time look at the rocket bunny the same way we now look at NFS:U era 'ricers' today?

It's amusing, gets a reaction out of people (i.e. getting called a ricer), doesn't weigh much of anything, is easy to install, and cheap enough to ironically do for laughs.

Except when you realise that you need to ruin your favorite ride to get those extra star points. Also, I really hated those spiny rims.

Nah the mods were okay though. I didn't particularly care about the style points right after I unlocked all the mags and mods.
