Sounds good? Well it only weighs 8.8KG and well...is a proper desktop replacement...

What other neat features do it have? The numpad is a touchpad under-neath so you can turn it around for dem touchpad users, ermmmm it's a brick?

I mean is it a good idea? Not really, what's the point in 21:9 in a laptop when there is literally going to be zero vertical screen estate?

With the curved screen, is it nice? Yep, is it going to make the laptop a lot thicker? Yep but I guess a few extra CM doesn't matter when it's already a couple of CM thick anyway.

I've been waiting for this to come out just so I can gob at its glory. I look forward to benchmarks of this laptop.

Why not tape a screen to the side of a mini itx case and call ot a day?

Actually I seriously want a "dumb" laptop combo: a laptop screen and keyboard, possibly battery, without any processor or motherboard but hdmi and display port inputs.

Basically you pack that and a really tiny itx rig on a backpack.

He said, as well as the guy above him, 120 Ghz refresh rate. That is indeed very high framerate.

The visible ligth spectrum starts at 430 THz, so there is still some headroom left :)

a laptop like this is only going to be good in a few situations.... none of which i can think of

if you don't have room for a full pc and desk and you move from location then it makes sense.

sure you're not going to be using on the move with hardware like that for more than an hour or two but worth it.

I don't think this laptop really makes sense in any scenario except only the most hardcore type LAN parties where there's a shortage of outlets.  Otherwise you'd just bring a mITX box with a monitor and plug in to the wall.

I still won't hate on Acer for making it.  I'd rather have crazy shit like this being made than yet-another-whitelabel-notebook.

Workstation:  14700nonk || Asus Z790 ProArt Creator || MSI Gaming Trio 4090 Shunt || Crucial Pro Overclocking 32GB @ 5600 || Corsair AX1600i@240V || whole-house loop.

LANRig/GuestGamingBox: 9900nonK || Gigabyte Z390 Master || ASUS TUF 3090 650W shunt || Corsair SF600 || CPU+GPU watercooled 280 rad pull only || whole-house loop.

Server Router (Untangle): 13600k @ Stock || ASRock Z690 ITX || All 10Gbe || 2x8GB 3200 || PicoPSU 150W 24pin + AX1200i on CPU|| whole-house loop

Server Compute/Storage: 10850K @ 5.1Ghz || Gigabyte Z490 Ultra || EVGA FTW3 3090 1000W || LSI 9280i-24 port || 4TB Samsung 860 Evo, 5x10TB Seagate Enterprise Raid 6, 4x8TB Seagate Archive Backup ||  whole-house loop.

Or a super small mITX case, 60% KB, mouse and a 24 inch monitor...granted that there will be more wires but it's probably gonna weigh as much a would only be ever so slightly bulkier :P (although you'd fit the laptop into a single large bag...)

This isn't new, it was revealed last year but as more of a concept computer iirc.

But now it's real, you'll be able to buy one and I'm just like "Why?" Who would want this?

Refreshes per second, not frequency of light waves.... That is such a terrible joke:dry:

This is basically the PC that wealthy families buy their kids to make sure they have the 'best.'  After all, when you live in a $2 million home, what's $9,000 so that your child is superior to all the riff-raff at the next LAN party?

That's what she said

Let's say this: If you didn't develop a hernia from carrying around the laptop on it's own, adding the power brick would probably guarantee one.
