2x 6 Core Xeons vs i7 6850k

I will be doing 3D Modelling, 3D Rendering, 3D sculpting, 3D painting etc.

However, I also do a lot of gaming.

I have a Gtx 1070

If I get one of the xeons, I will run them in a dual cpu setup

I could also get a single 10 core X99 xeon

I would go withe a single or dual Intel Xeon E5-2690 v4 cause in my opinion it's the best of the cpus u named due to price per performance.

Zbrush, Modo, Substance Painter

But I need at least 8 cores, since I need to render out 3D animations

Better go with i7. Those xeons won't make your gaming happy

But will I have similar performance in 3D work?

A 6800k will be faster than either of those xeons.

And the 6900k is faster than the 6800k?

The 6800k is abit faster than the 2640v4 due to its much higher clock.

The 2640 v4 is a bit faster in rendering, but depends on program.

Id get the 6800k, much faster in games, modeling. If you want a render box, get a few old 1366 servers.

I think I'm going to go with the 6900k, as it's a good middle ground. Thanks for all of your responses!

A lot of gaming, heavy 3d rendering, heavy 3d modelling, heavy 3d animation, heavy 3d sculpting. Paired with a gtx 1070. Will be using for game development and gaming. I will be using Modo, Zbrush, UE4, and Substance Painter.
