Unigine Valley Benchmark Scores Thread + SUPERPOSITION ***Over 1000 Submissions!***

Jumper118

did some clocking - went from 18.1 fps to 22.0 - neat. havn't touched voltages at all and the gpu runs silent in its little enclosure. such a neat piece of kit from 2011 - I am such disappoint that more laptop manufacturers didn't go down this path.

The temperature readout was all kinds of wrong, giving me anywhere between 0 degrees Celsius all the way to 1,800,000 + degrees Celsius between each of 9 consecutive runs (trying to find a stable OC.) If anyone could tell me why that is, I would appreciate it. MSI Afterburner reports that my card was running at about 73C average on this run. Turns out, in fact that this card doesn't overclock as well as some probably. anything above this was giving me some artifacts in the rainy scenes. Finally found a stable run and I don't think the score is all too bad.

(BTW, how do you save the screenshots from Valley and where should I direct them to? I ended up snapping a pic with my phone. Oh well.)

I can't seem to get past 8400 on the memory. Anything past 2097mhz crashes. Any tips?

@Jumper118 I'll take that #1 spot back :D (you should update the scoreboard ;))

Nice work man!  I'm in the middle of a build for my son.  As soon as I'm done screwing around with that, I'll knock you off of your horse.  I like your style.

I just noticed that your pushing that 5960x up to 1.55v.  Fearless.  No other way.

Ya, not sure how much headroom is left in my system, but I'll try my hardest to keep that #1 :D. Having shitty OC'ing KPE's and staying on air is going to end up being my limiting factor.

1.551v man. No point in getting an Extreme Edition chip if you're not gonna push it to the ragged limit!

Yeah, as said before something is wrong with the way your benchmark is running, that score isn't valid. No way in hell any 970 can score higher than a lot of 980Ti's and SLI 970's, and end up just behind quad 760's

Get the classified controller and give it mem volts,  it will scale.

Should be able to do 8800 no problem with 1.75v mem.

Well, you were right. 8800 at 1.75. Artifacting quite a lot but was able to loop a couple Valley runs before I called it quits. What's the max voltage people generally run through the mem?

Below 1.8 with 100% fan speed is OK, I think 1.9v for ln2.

Depending on the bench, my card will do 8800-9100 around 1.68-1.74 software volts

I'll just have to keep looking at the Cinebench rankings until I get some time.  :P

So I'm going to go ahead and leave this here while I make a parts run for my son's computer.  Enjoy your Monday!

dat 5ghz 4690X tho...

I guess I'll have to see how much farther I can push it later this week. I now know I can get 400 more out of the memory, need to start cranking the voltage on the GPU cores now.

Ha!  If I overclock it a little more, will you refer to it as a 5960x then?

If it's on all 8 cores, lol. I got mine to 5.2 on 2 cores, definitely was an i3 4330X haha.

Jumper, thanks again for the update.

Could you do me a favor and change AVG FPS to 185.2 and strip that very distinguishing yellow highlight from Masada02's run and ever so nicely place it on mine.  He'd want it that way.

As it turns out, I'm helping Jumper with the updates. He's going through and confirming my additions as he has time. That's why you see blue highlighted areas right now.

Don't you wish power would scale when you dropped cores?  Not that it's not a great processor now, but it would be perfect if it did that.

Would be neat if it did, but when you are already maxing out the capability of the cores, the only real benefit of dropping to less cores is allowing you to specifically run the better ones. And if you have a golden chip, there really is no benefit to disabling cores unless you don't have the cooling. I'm sure there's lots more that goes into that, but I'll just keep it simple for myself, lol.

I chose to run 2 x 360mm right before the CPU in my loop simply because I wanted to be able to run 8 wide open and not worry about temps, but I still don't like pulling that much current through the board if I don't have to.  These suckers pull a serious load above 4.6 with all 8 running.  Feeding 500+ watts to the CPU during a lot of benchmarks is craziness.

I obviously use all 8 on Cinebench and anything else that benefits from multi-threads, but I try not to run it like that for repetitive runs on things synthetic gaming benchmarks.

When I disable cores, I just alternate between the first 4 listed in BIOS and the last four listed in BIOS.  I set up profiles to make quick work of the switching, but now that you mention it, maybe I should set one up with my coolest cores as well.  With that said...
