Unigine Valley Benchmark Scores Thread + SUPERPOSITION ***Over 1000 Submissions!***

Decided to run Heaven, which i haven't done forever and it got me bit off-guard - i have forgotten how old it is. Btw why with the extreme preset it doesn't let me run in 1080p or Fullscreen and forces me to 1600x900 ?

image.thumb.png.3f015bded8195494158616bff297bd56.png

These are the only options i have:

image.png.dcd1f27b008c260d893a3664b8b4b884.png

P.S

Oddly at 1440p there isn't a bellow 10FPS drop:

image.png.0db09f0c6910142b78a2ec34c7fb799e.png

Same with 1600x900 where the 5800X3D finally gets to go above 10% utilization occasionally.

Got my Ryzen 7800X-3D set up tonight, will re-do benchmarking soon.

Just a heads up guys, "Extreme" shaders are broken in SuperPosition.

Say your score is 20,000 in 4K Optimized - then your 1080p High score should be close to 40,000. However, 1080p extreme score will be close to 15,000. Its broken for sure.

On another note, SuperPosition has been around for over 6 years now. Any idea on the successor?

@si1enze

Testing Done (At Least Regarding SuperPosition) on the new PC I just finished building last night.

Specs are as follows:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7800X-3D

CPU Cooler: Noctua D-15

RAM: Trident Z5 Neo 2 x 16GB 6000MHz CL30 Sticks

MoBo: MSI MAG B-650 Tomahawk WiFi

GPU: AMD RX 7900-XTX 24GB (Power Color Red Devil AIB)

PSU: Seasonic PX-850 (850-Watt Platinum)

Primary/Boot Storage: Samsung 980 Pro NVME 2TB

Secondary Storage: Kingston NV2 NVME 4TB

Case: Lian Li LanCool 216

Monitor: 3440x1440p

Gaming Goal: 3440x1440p at High Settings over 100 FPS AVG for many years to come. As of now it easily handles even Ultra settings over 120 FPS in most games.

So ya, my new GPU was heavily bottlenecked by that old Ryzen 3700X CPU at lower settings and lower resolutions (High FPS) plus the fact that I couldn't get S.A.M. working with the 3700X. I blew right past that 25,000 score for 3440x1440p and went straight to 35,000 - a full 40% improvement, thats pretty nutz.

I tested everything in SuperPosition from 720p low to 8K Optimized. Certain modes are broken. 720p refuses to utilize GPU to 100%, probably too much framerate for the engine. Also, "Extreme" Shaders are definitely broken. They cut my score in half. I can get a score of nearly 40,000 on 1080 High but go Extreme and the score drops to 15,000-ish, thats lower than even my 4K scores.

It would seem that SuperPosition has become too old. Like Valley and Heaven before it, it looks like SuperPosition must be replaced with something more modern. This will be the last time I use the benchmark.

My OC settings are quite MILD and are designed for daily driving. These Settings are:

CPU/RAM: Expo 1 with 1.275V SOC

GPU: +5% Power, 2600MHz VRAM with Fast Timings, Aggressive Fan Curve

Results:

I lied, one more test on SuperPosition 4K optimized...

A recent driver update has made higher OC settings more stable, so I decided to use my new maximum semi-stable (survives a benchmark but will not survive gaming sessions over 30 mins lol) overclock settings to see what would happen.

Well... This is what happened... And remember my previous results were already a mild OC...

image.thumb.png.b1b02942f55d3e37e303ff35d3c5de5f.png

Here are the settings on my Red Devil RX 7900-XTX used to achieve this score:

image.thumb.png.bac10c05e5ccb065407030fb14dde1cc.png

The one setting you cannot see because it is cutoff is the power tuning slider which of course is maxed out at +15% power limit resulting in a GPU power draw of 430 watts under full load. This settings screenshot was taken while TimeSpy Extreme Ran in the background so you can see how the card was behaving under full load at high resolutions.

But you can see from my previous scores that this test has a very hard time scaling lower resolution scores on powerful hardware, and the fact that this card averages nearly 200 FPS at 4K during this test tells you just how dated this software is. Unigine really needs a more modern test, it really is too old at this point.

Dont use 'extreme" any test in Superposition, its broken. Extreme shaders cut down performance by like 60%. Run 4K optimized and ull see a way higher score even tho its 4K.

No worries, nobody really knows why. If you go to 1080p extreme, then go to custom and just lower the shaders from extreme to high, your score will more than double.

Unfortunately SuperPosition is obsolete at this point and we are waiting for the next Unigine Benchmark.

Your Scores are a bit low, but still an overall great experience. I also have a 7800X-3D and 7900-XTX and even at factory settings, I get more like 30,000 points in TimeSpy. Your PC might be running hot or be limited somewhere in settings, but regardless as I said its not like ur going to have a poor gaming experience.

CMP 100-210 (Tesla V100) 160 USD mining card with quadro GV100 driver, overclocked, only runs in windowed mode. pcie 1x mode so only usable for syntetic bench. (i can repair the lanes, just missing the smd caps)

Not a gaming card but why not to test it.

Figured I'd run the Superposition benchmark at 1440p since it's more relevant, 1080p depends on CPU too much, 4K is not relevant for many.

Used the Extreme shaders so it's stressing it alright. If you really want to test 4K use Cusom preset and choose 4K + Extreme shaders, that got like 22fps on my GPU.

Settings and benchmark result for 1440p with 7800XT:
