Water, at least for now. I have access to LN2 but I am not a serious bencher at this point anyway.

it should be fast enough under water ln2 in crazy :)

I wanted a 780ti but the price/performance difference led to me getting a 780.

I am very happy with my choice  :)

I was also looking at the AMD cards as well since they are just as good as Nvidias (looked at the R9 290x).

Thats true.. 710$ is far too much! 780 is very good. I am curious why you dint go with the 290x?

Mainly due to the damn miners...otherwise I would have went with a non-reference 290x.

The 780 was actually cheaper at the time  :P

I wanted to get first place, but I degraded my CPU in the like.. 20 hours of benching it at 5ghz, I previously had it stable at 1.545v, it instantly crashes at 1.56 now lololol

that could be expensive :P. i normally find the highest gpu clock first then set my cpu to benching speed for a final fastest run then do 2 or 3 runs to get the best score.

I could get first place I think, but I'd have to flash unlocked bios's and probably kill my CPU in the process :(

I have intel's tuning plan so If I was to fry it I could just get a replacement, but I'd rather not kill it in the first place lol

well if you have the tuning plan then you might as well use it :P. get a nice unlocked bios for the 780ti's and do a few runs at 4.8ghz. then only when your getting near the edge of their stability crank the cpu up for those last few points.

I would but I'm scared I'll brick my 780's :(   I think if I could get them to 1400 mhz for the run I could get first place, but idk, I may have to get like.. 1500 mhz each outta em, and I'd probably have to push like 1.5v and I'd probably fry them LOL

My temps were fine to keep pushing my CPU, if I wanted to go for broke I think I could get 5.2 outta it before it killed itself, but I really don't wanna be without my PC for however long it takes to get the replacement, and I'd have to buy a new PSU before trying this or I'd probably hit the over-current protection thingie

Idk if from 5 to 5.2 ghz on the cpu, then from 1225 mhz per card to 1400-1500 would net me 14 fps though

the bios flash is the most risky bit tbf, if you got that right then you could go as far as you felt you wanted to go. the psu would be fine because you're only running 2 cards on a 1050w psu. the cpu speed is risky, but it should be necessary to beat the high scores as it doesn't effect this benchmark much at all. my cpu actually gets higher scores at 4.976ghz than it does at 5.2ghz because the bclk is high at that clock.

The 3930k at 5ghz alone takes 250-270 watts, at 4.7 I tested it and it was using 230 watts, both 780's once flashed will take upwards of 350 once I get to ~1.3v

I'm gonna get a seasonic 1250 whenever I get money from selling my monitors on ebay, then I'ma RMA my hx1050 and sell the replacement they send me, I think my hx1050's fan is broke it rattles ridiculously loud at full speed, makes me nervous >.<

Thats pretty crazy power draw although the 780's wont take as much power as titans, but the 3930k will take more than the 2700k. Have you looked at the superflower leadex 1300w, 8 pack was using 4 290's on one of those and they were pulling over 1600w and it was still going :P seasonic psu's are very very good though. The only problem is with buying high wattage psu's at the moment, is that they are quite expensive because of all the miners.

Yeah, the cheapest I can find a seasonic 1250 for is like 309$ on newegg, I found one on superbiiz for 230$ but its outta stock :/

I'll check that one out :) ty!

If all else fails I'll just get an RM1000 for the silence level, all the tests i've seen are 22-27 dba @ 100% load, which makes me very very happy :D  The seasonic 1250watt was like, 32.8dba, which is still ok with me.

I'm trying to stay away from the ax1200i and evga supernova, their fans are 50dba at max load :(
