That's only half the equation. The other half is newer technology = winner. My 680s will never beat 780s for sure.

That's basically all benchmarking is. If you want to stay competitive you have to keep upgrading. Being top dog doesn't really matter, unless you have the money and you enjoy doing it. I've come to terms with the fact I'll never be number 1 lol!!!

my 7970 lightning isn't putting out as good scores as i was expecting :(. it seems that the core doesn't oc very well. the highest i've had it is 1260mhz. i can't get it to run at that core speed with the ram over 1650mhz though so my highest score is with the clocks at 1231/1876. still behind the pesky 770's, but a decent score.

Actually you are above most GTX 770's and very close to the top scoring GTX 770, which I was pushing to its absolute limits at 1,2V. It could barely run the benchmark without crashing.

Yeah I kind of botched that, and the memory won't go much higher for me though.

575 offset is around my max for valley, don't know why I went so low for that run but realistically even 575 is only going to give me a fps or so.

Edit: More impressed with GK110s perf/w when downclocked and undervolted than anything else, beats my 7950 pretty handedly in that regard.

nothing really. it should work after you have installed them. if you want to overclock then maybe get msi afterburner.

I'm now accepting multiple entries for the same user, with the following conditions.

You may submit multiple entries providing you are either

  • Benching the same card with Dual, Tri or Quad SLI Setup's
  • Benching a different card than your first submission.

Which means you'll be able to have multiple entries in the Top 30 with Multiple Cards or SLI Setups.

EG - I Own a GTX Titan & GTX 680 so both are eligible for the Single GPU Top 30 as they are different cards.

Yeah they are really quite fast. I'm terribly disappointed in them out of the box though! Even with the LN2 stock BIOS they don't overclock worth a damn, at least mine didn't. Once I flashed to a modified LN2 BIOS with 200% power target the card OC's a lot better.

Yes well i dont know whether you have seen linus's 780 lightning video, but he said it was because nvidia don't allow custom pcb model to be shipped with a higher power limit, which i think is ridiculous.

Oh yeah I know that. The difference between a reference 780 and Classified 780 out of the box is nothing. That's why if you try to overclock the Classy further it just crashes! I don't get the point of the voltage lockdown, especially on cards made to take the voltage.

They say it's to cut down on RMA's but I think it's really to limit the performance of the card so you have to buy the next card above it. I see right through their BS!

My 670 poweredition crashes a lot at high coreand memory speeds but it does feel like its from a lackofpower rather than the card reaching its limits because at slightly lower clocks it seems to be rock solid. I think i might have a go at flashing the bios, but its only got one unlike some other cards so if i get it wrong its bricked.
