When you look at it that way I suppose it seems like a bargain but for most people $120 a year to not see ads is a little excessive.

There's also people like myself who have no need for google music. If it were more like $5 a month that would be a lot more reasonable, youtube would still be getting way more money than if the user hadn't purchased it. On average a creator will get $1-2 per 1k views so assuming its higher at $2/1k the user would still have to watch 2500 before youtube "loses" money.

Well the exclusive content isn't that interesting and adblockers are mainstream if thay wanted to do a program like this they needed to do it a couple years ago, and even then it would likely fail since it's not a service like netflix

No. Google's ad network is full of malvertising. Google is usually quick to take bad ads down, but malvertisers still manage to find a way to get around that.

Back in 2008, I got 27 viruses, including a rootkit, from malicious ads. I didn't click on any of them. Ended up having to reinstall the OS.

i never got viruses and i never heard of anyone else getting viruses from google so you probably got them somewhere else
