Razer Shadow

RiteshSingh93

At first I was wondering, “Why the fuck did razer think it was a good idea to put the track pad where the number key pad should be?”  Then I saw the cutaway view showing that they used the space to put in a larger battery.  I am still not very happy with the decision to put the battery there, but in this case, I can understand why.  It is to make the battery’s shape as simple and large as possible without having to make the battery a rather strange shape.  I would prefer to have a numpad for number data entry, but this is a gamer focused laptop. And I guess having the numpad off to the side is more ergonomic than a numpad in the center of the device.

Also, the charging port looks suspiciously like a magsafe charging port.  If it is a magnetic charging cable like magsafe, that would be amazing.  Though it seems a bit too deep to be that, it’s hard to tell without seeing what the charging connector looks like.  I guess I’ll have to wait to see video of it before making a judgment on that

What I like is that Razer is able to cram a GTX1080 in there while Apple's struggling with a GT750M in a design that's about the same thickness "because heat".

You do know Razers other laptops are ovens right....?

Yey another stove with quality control problems.

Also if I was Lenovo then I would sue them.

That is a huge lie, the Lenovo Y900 has a "ultra-low-profile" mech keyboard, last I checked the Lenovo Y900 was here before the Stove Pro with a 1080.

Razer could you please make the logo on the back RGB. For the love of GOD! *takes a deep breath* Thank you. Like it's not the end of the world. And I can respect company pride. But you've done it on a bunch of your other products; could you please do it here for consistency, and my OCD lol. My keyboard being one color but the back logo always green. Ik ik, you usually wont see it cause it's on the back. But still lol. I feel like it shouldn't be that crazy or difficult to implement. But what do I know. xP

That's because Apple actually cares about trying to limit heat. Razer on the other hand just lets the CPU and GPU throttle constantly.

...fuck that trackpad position

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

It bothered me too, but you know what, it may not be that bad after all. It is on the side where most people have their mice. I'd have to play with it first, but I think it may be a good experience.

Except that the build quality is bad and the CPU and GPU will throttle like a motherfucker. Also, hopefully the keyboard is actually good because it's not great on their other blades.

It has a nice enclosure, but the quality control is still pretty bad. I'm sure @Dackzy or @don_svetlio will come ranting about it at some point.

don is no longer with us. He got banned.

Build quality cannot be good as long as they put it poorly together and have zero quality control.

IMO the mods overreacted. He is known for poking a bit to people, but he never did anything that was really bad. He could be a bit rude, but I have seen people on here that are way worse than him.

yep. I don't know about you, but here in Denmark we generally say things more straight, according to some of my friends from other countries and I call really feel the effect of it online.

All of those SJW and safespace people are starting to affect the whole web and there are more and more too sensitive people. It is fine to be sensitive, but you should learn to not take things personally before going online and out in the real world.

Well, shit.  I could've gotten that, but all these new AK's are equally as sweet :D   I really hope that there is a Nuc in the future, like the Skull Canyon, with a six core, and double-sided m.2 ports for 4 M.2 ssd's on sata or PCIE.  That'd be great.

It looks really good, they have even put a TPM 2.0 module innit

The only weird decision in this "pro" case is opting for RAID 0 instead of RAID 1

Why? :|

I wish they put a numpad instead of the touchpad there. a 17" without a numpad is a big no-no for me. Or they could have kept the screen, and made the numpad appear on it, when you're using an external mouse.
