And it doesn't need a 4k screen either. :)

The question is... is the price justified for this thing? My opinion says no, but if you've got the money go ahead!

A 1080 that thermal throttle to hell and back won't be able to power a 4k screen either.

Blame the consumer for that one, not Razer -- consumers want 4k screens. And you can't really blame them with all the 4k content that will be coming out. plus, 1080p is too low imo even for 13", I find 1440p @ 13" to be about the sweet spot.

Yeah, I won't necessarily blame Razer here. I don't understand why people want 4k screens on a small laptop though. Personally I'm fine with 1366x768 all the way up to 15.6" (I'm a weird kind because I'm not very picky) but yeah, 1440p would be way better on this laptop than 4k would be.

For the same reason that people upgrade to 4k tv's, because it's perceived to be better. Except the difference is, that 4k is actually noticeable over 1080p on a laptop unlike a TV due to the viewing distance. The only problem with 4k on a laptop is worse battery life and poor UI scaling (although I can't personally comment on the UI scaling since I dont have a 4k screen to test with). So once the UI scaling gets sorted out, then I expect 4k to become commonplace in the non shit-tier laptops.

And I don't know how you deal with that 1366x768 is awful.

That's because Apple actually cares about trying to limit heat. Razer on the other hand just lets the CPU and GPU throttle constantly.

Actually did you ever see the throttling any of apples laptops do? You can check one great case of it with the water cooled laptop vid. by linus.

The Pros/Air don't really have a throttling issue. Only the Macbook and 5k iMac have an issue (and the former is intended for light use anyway).
