What do you call cake?

People from different parts of the world have different meanings for the same thing...

Like in Australia, what we call 'biscuits', Americans call 'cookies'.

Australians say 'lunch', Americans say 'gunJesusfreedomfries'murica'.

Only a few types of cake, I dislike most cakes because they're too sweet.

I am from the US and I can confirm 'gunJesusfreedomfries'murica' is my favorite time of day. Nothing beats a good old mid day sit down for some good 'gunJesusfreedomfires'murica'. On a side note, cake is a gift from the heavens.

We distinguish between the two things.  Do Australians have a different term for what Americans call biscuits?
