So I know how to disable ht of course, but how exactly do I disable cores?

in the bios there will be an option to disable cores somewhere, you should be able to choose, all/4, 3, 2, 1. 2 will be best as thats leaves 1 core to do the benchmark and the other one to run whatever windows is doing.

1.7v gets it stable at 2400MHz but the timings are a bit higher when they were left on auto so gonna tighten them up and go for round 2 cause i'm breaking 25GB/sec Memory score with the current poo timings.

I'm not even done with the timings yet. The tRCD refuses to go any lower no matter I've tried it won't drop below 12

Alright, so... I went all the way up to 1.53v to get 5.3GHz (couldn't stop myself)... Booted to a screen that said over voltage 1.55v even though I had 1.53v. Then I went back to 5.2GHz with 101 and 102 BCLK and it crashes even at 1.47v... Edit: 5.2GHz 100.2 bclk @... So @ 5.2 @ 1.485v it ran cinebench at 4.01GHz, but the score was 2.27.... What now? I guess I could oc ram, but I don't know about the timings or ram volts.

that sucks then. to oc the ram set the voltage to 1.65v and lower one timing at a time.

the overvoltage error on asus boards can be turned off by going into voltage monitoring and setting cpu to ignore then it will boot. also have you set the load line calibration to very high or extreme, that might help.

I'm only running at 4.5GHz Core and Cache while the 2600k you did was at 5.227GHz Also now its tied all I need to do is make a tiny bclk bump up to like 100.2 and I'll have your 2600k beat and will be going head on with the 4.7GHz 4790/4770K's

its strange as i've got used to seeing 4770K at 5.5ghz+ all the time on ln2 getting well over 1100cb. it would seem everyone in my hwbot team bought those 8pack binned 4770k's.........

have you delidded it? some cl pro or ultra would help as well, or thermal grizzly when they decide to bring it out...... also you can do gofspar's ice bucket technique or prokon's freezer technique. either way, getting a new cpu would be the easiest option

Nope still haven't delidded it, 1.58GHz is a bit hot I would say that's what 4.6 would take for it too and I think could get my 950 CB if I can control thermals.

a brand new ek dice/ln2 pot is only £112 here, so its probably cheaper where you are. same price as the high end aio's and its suppose to be easier and cheaper to get dice in the us and canada.

yes. you can get most of the haswell performance from dice anyway as most of them coldbug at around -100 -110 anyway .

Dice only goes to -70C.

Your load temps at 1.6V with a 4770K 4 Cores will be somewhere around -60C to -55C. Not even considering the hexa octa cores.

Hence the need for LN2.

Also don't forget GPUs draw anywhere from 600W-1000W or more.
