Opps, its hard to see if I've left a space as my drivers are having issues again and my Geforce 6200 is running at 4bit colour 640x480 (I'm desperate until I re-install Windows on my laptop and desktop-dual PIII emergency rig FTW).

I've been doing a lot of bench and stress tests lately, so I thought I'd post my R15 result here.

The previous results show my ever increasing bclk test until it crashed (+16) then I backed off 2 for stability. I could probably play with the ram timings a bit and push it further, but I'm happy with these results.

Goal was to retire my aging 3770K (cpu score of 749) from my edit suite and build a Workstation grade system still capable of gaming (during down time and breaks). I ran out of pci lanes and had to disable 1 gpu while running ProTools HD2. Now I have 80 lanes and a very stable platform. I bumped the bclk to 114 and set my ram to 1600 (the supposed max for these Xeons). They are 1866Mhz w/ 9-10-9-24 timings, but by adding the bclk increase they stepped up to 1824 at 9-9-9-24 instead of 11-11-11-24 when at 1600. I ran stress (Aida64) for 12 hours. Those Noctua's keep it at 26c idle and 48c full load. Bonus they blow down directly on the dimms. Considering going back to win 7 64 as ProTools drivers aren't validated on win 8.1 but they are working. Games run smooth with the speed hanging around the 3.1Ghz - 3.4Ghz range, right around the stock 3770k speeds. Adobe Pr/Ae and Avid Media Comp. performance has nearly tripled. May throw a Black Magic card in the 3770k and use it as a steaming machine.

you need a screenshot of puz as well please. that is a very nice upgrade from a 3770K :)

I had bought the trident x Cl11 2666 kit from ebay, but the guy had no stock and took literally like 4 or 5 days to tell me he had no stock.

Waiting for my refund now, but I need to order another kit of good ram ASAP, need to get it before Saturday. Because I have to give my RAM back to my cousin. (Using his shitty 1333 c9 PNY kit until I get a kit)

For some reason CPU-z shows my processor as a 2650 v2, but every other one as 2630v2. 
Here's the one from Aida64 and some temps at near ilde.

I've got a draw similar to that for HDD. Every last one of them is from 1994 to 2009 and they have all been outlasted by a good as new 1992 85MB WD AC 280 (though my 80MB Maxtor drive of the same age and an exception-I don't know how the hell to set it up as the label tells me nothing other than the brand and capacity).

Edit: Is that SDRAM working and what capacity is it? I've got boards that seem to work with any stick of RAM that I use-and they all take standard and ECC modules.

Lmao, good one. AMD did the 'shitloads of steps back' technique with the FX line. Even an old Pentium III family Celeron M has a similar IPC to an FX CPU.

Edit: AMD FX suck for gaming, buy an old Phenom II or Athlon yadayadayada....

they are much better fun than intel 1155 onwards and not too expensive :) .

Just closes? When I have unstable overclocks it just fails for the first few times, benches slower than before, then I get a BSOD.

Gonna do some manual on the fly clocking in the OS... i can OC directly from the board and add more voltage until it damn well benches!

Your Phenom II is making me miss the one in the laptop that my Dad is now using. Its P20M alongside the (I think) HD 4650M 1GB showed me what gaming could be like. Before I'd used it the Core Duo T2600 and the Quadro NVS 110M in my laptop was the best computer I'd ever used. (Spec wise that is, the Compaq Pressario R3000 I gave to my Mum -she needed a 3.5" FDD and the laptop has one- was the best laptop of all time to me, awesome screen quality, awesome audio, Pentium 4 Northwood at 3.9GHz and going like a bat out of hell).

That's not high for the core voltage, my Pentium 4 Cedarmill runs at 2V no problems-I got lucky and have a 65W TDP chip instead of the 84W (its really showing its Intel heritage-2V stock Celeron 300A/333A)
