Dice only goes to -70C.

Your load temps at 1.6V with a 4770K 4 Cores will be somewhere around -60C to -55C. Not even considering the hexa octa cores.

Hence the need for LN2.

Also don't forget GPUs draw anywhere from 600W-1000W or more.

i know. the gap between water (+40) to dice (-70) is much great than the jump to ln2 (-110) as the temp difference is 90c under load which isn't bad when it cost about the same. the value for money is the main attraction. for gpu's and amd cpu's ln2 is a much better option as they can make use of the extra cooling that you get from the ln2, although gpu's do burn through ln2 really really fast

I'm only running at 4.5GHz Core and Cache while the 2600k you did was at 5.227GHz Also now its tied all I need to do is make a tiny bclk bump up to like 100.2 and I'll have your 2600k beat and will be going head on with the 4.7GHz 4790/4770K's

Well I got the XPower now and I also this G.Skill kit is gonna be a bit tought to beat because I can get timings of 10-12-11-20 1T at 2400MHz

Same, I almost got the Classy over the XPower only because I have never owned an EVGA board. But now it would take alot for me to part from my XPower cause its handled some serious voltage and power demands when benching.

now if I could only find a cheap z77 itx, I would steal my 3570k for my next custom build and use the i7 and classy board for my main rig.  

 

one day soon tho I will toss this my case just to use it for awhile, or set up a test bench for it.

the gene isn't too bad, but my mpower is better, i couldn't oc my 2600K as far on the gene as the mpower at the same voltage.

disable ht and 2 cores. try 5.3ghz and if that doesn't work try 100.25-102mhz base with the 52 multi

thats pretty good

drop your command rate to 1T then lower the first 3 timings by 1 at a time until it bosd or doesn't post, then go back to last stable timings and use those .

Drop CL to 10 and restart see if the system will post if so, keep dropping it by one till the system gets into a post loop(It will fix itself and post letting you know the overclock failed), go back into BIOS and set it to the last working timing then go down each timing and do that.

I'm debating on benching the G3258 with the 2400MHz CL10 That I was doing yesterday since I can get 10-12-10-20 1T when running just 8GB.

I would leave it at 1.65v if anything I would bump it up to 1.7v and try CL 10 again.

Just tried 1.7v and 10, BSOD 0x00000050.I think my Ram (A-Data XPG v2) just doesn't want to be tuned...

change the trp to 12.

With benching keep it 2 to sticks, board will be much happier along with the CPU

There is actually a preset on my XPower for those samsung sticks you have, its set for 1.85v for 3000MHz with 13-13-13-35
