it works from sandy onwards, but haswell is the best supported platform.

Did a bit more experimenting, this is stable in GPUPI for CPU (the timings)

 

Reason for it giving me errors before I think was cache was/may have been not stable.

no. i mean it might not work on some z68/z77 boards , but runs fine on most z87/z97 boards

no idea. i presume it will. i works with my z77 board and i would have though x79 would be more likely to work with it being the enthusiast platform

Overclock is unstable on something which is causing the error.

i got a log file

temps are the objective every degree matters , and i don't have any warranty with this chip. bought it second hand to save cost , was not disappointed ... i only paid 100$ for it and its way above average on the frequency

 

i know it wont make too big of a difference , maybe like 3c if im lucky. but im already getting close to 80c so ... yea

temps are the objective every degree matters , and i don't have any warranty with this chip. bought it second hand to save cost , was not disappointed ... i only paid 100$ for it and its way above average on the frequency

you do not need any proof of purchase. intel has the best warranty. all you need is the chip!

 

do yourself a favor and dice that chip out, best 5 dollars you will ever spend. #beancan
