Post your Cinebench R20+15+R11.5+2003 Scores **Don't Read The OP PLZ**

Message added by SansVarnic

Please <SNIP> large quotes.

Save an Electron . . . <snip> always.

Maybe my CPU really will do 5, last time I tried I was using entirely to much voltage. I guesstimated what I thought it would take and just jumped straight to it instead of slowly stepping up like I probably should of, because I was lazy lol.

Coz the guy I bought it from said he got it to 5 without any issue but never benched it, and he has like 10k posts on OCN & is one of the biggest classified users, especially since @VSG recommended him, I figured he was pretty true to his word.

When my h220 mounting hardware shows up I'll slowly try to climb up

Yeah definitely take your time and hope you didn't degrade it. It was a very good chip.

I got shy with the voltage at 1.7 even out in the cold.

did you put your rig outside to bench? I really hope you did :)

if you like to play cpu benchmarks here are the other two best ones on the forum.

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/214899-post-your-hwbot-prime-scores-ltt-database/

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/141235-post-your-super-pi-mod-v15-scores/

yeah. too much voltage can make stuff unstable. if you look a prokon's more recent scores, he has started using less voltage.

I havent become voltage shy in the slightest :) my 4790k did not scale well or at all with voltages past 1.4 in r15 and 11.5. in hwbot prime for example it scaled very well allowing me to hit 5.3ghz on all cores@ 1.65V

the frequency scaling i got in cinebench was explicitly due to drop in core temps. load and idle.

this particular 4790k must not like the mmx\sse instruction sets pushed too hard with high voltage

if i was able to dump more voltage in her and get more cinebench points.... I would

all chips will scale better when you lower temps

Coz the guy I bought it from said he got it to 5 without any issue but never benched it, I figured he was pretty true to his word.

so you bought a binned chip cause someone said it did X frequency?

no confirmation with a load test of some type?

vccin

up to 1.9V will yield best core frequencies

up to 2.2V will yield best uncore frequncies

You took that a little outta context, I've known @VSG for a while and believe him if he tells me something. The chip was only 319 with two day shipping which was cheaper than new for me at the time anyways, so either way it was a good deal.

I was using like 2.1 vccin when trying to get 5,that would most likely explain the issue, especially since temps were climbing so much.

I could usually get halfway through a cinebench before it crashed, so I'll try again with lower vccin when my h220 mounting hardware comes.

Ran out of room on the voltage and the memory controller doesnt seem to like anything past 2052 and 2033 is questionable. Quite strange.

you would get a much higher cpu score if you didn't have anything else running in the background while you run the benchmark. that score is lower than a stock or locked 2600K

Asus Zenith III Extreme

http://siliconlottery.com/ actually sells binned CPU's tested for 1 hour XTU.

For example a 4790K at 4.8GHz;

1.35V 1.95Vc

1.275V 1.87Vc

Guru3d review; http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/core_i7_4790k_processor_5_ghz_review_a_silicon_lottery,1.html

320$ for a 1.30V thing isn't a bad deal imo, thinking about getting a 5960x from there, don't really want to spend 1000$ on a CPU that who knows needs 1.5V for 4.3GHz and it's even 150 eur cheaper for me.

my apologies

I was just a little perplexed by the whole idea.I often think about buying or selling "binned" chips but im still undecided on what type of criteria one should set.

I personally would only test on air and would only consider something stable if load tested for 8 or more hours.

Re-ran it with everything closed. Better, but not by much. Probably going to tune my overclock, then post again.

Fair enough! Tweaked my overclock (4.1 + Turbo -> 4.6), and managed to squeeze a few more points out. I might see if I can get 4.9 tomorrow.

i would have done but its says cpu over voltage error if i go to 1.6v or above and then reboots. any ideas on why that is? i've got some G.Skill 1066Mhz CL5-6-6-18 2X2GB :)

still only lets me up to 1.59v but not 1.6v, it should get up to 1.7v even with the jumper in none oc mode. in the oc mode it lets me up 2.1vtrying some high ram speeds instead and see what i can do.

I get the over voltage error as well I just push f1 to continue and the system boots up
