i have one. i could delid it, but i want to try a c2d or something like that first as they are £5-10

little to no benefit from lapping an ihs. better results delidding and using higher quality tim between die and ihs

 

lapping the ihs also voids your 3 year warranty. a proper delid + re-adhere will not :)

Nice little score improvement on my laptop, tonight I thought I'd rip the heatsink out, clean out the dust (though there wasn't any) and also remove the old thermal paste from the CPU and GPU with some nice new Arctic Cooling. The last time I ran this I hit something like 86 degrees on the hottest core, this time round it hit no more than 72 degrees.

 

It is surprising how much the score has improved over the last one. Ignore the GPU score.

i managed to save over the R11.5 and R15 single thread scores so i will rerun them tomorrow, bit of a ball ache cos they were good. Also, i'm having issues going over 1.7v with this cpu. it can bench fine at 1.65v as long as its cold , but it seems to get less stable if i go much high. it will BSOD before i even get into windows, even at the same clock speeds.

my score is an ancient on-air one with 680i :)

i know. this is why i had to beat you. just trying with the pentiums first. ryan leech's score is the main dual core is the one to beat. This is just the warm up before the quads. i think i'm going to have trouble keeping those suckers cool.

if i go from 433 (cinebench stable) to 434 on the base clock then i won't boot up all all no matter what i do. i get the 0x00000050 BSOD when it gets past the windows logo before the welcome screen :/

i typically boot into windows at 400 fsb and setfsb the rest of the way

It's 533MHz FSB. In P45 800 is minimum to boot.

It's 533MHz FSB. In P45 800 is minimum to boot.

are you using set fsb?

 

i typically boot into windows at 400 fsb and setfsb the rest of the way

 

ICS9LPRS918BKL (P5K/3 Deluxe, P5E, P5Q Deluxe, P5Q-E )

 

the celeron430 wouldnt boot past 400fsb but could bench around the 450 mark.

the set fsb button is greyed out for some reason :(

You need to use the freeware version

2.2.134.98

Also make sure to check off the little ultra checkbox
