it's per game and per scenario based increases - it's not like Async will provide % amount of perf increase in all situations

furthermore, it was a case with Fury X having a negative scaling with Ashes - in one of Anand's benches

Async was severely overhyped by AMD and people bought it

Fury X has no negative scaling in AOTS only the 980TI showed that .

Pretty sweet! Using my OC 7870 I get 5-10 fps more with Vulkan than Open GL, same settings.

No. If and when I upgrade it should be my motherfucking choice not Microsofts. They have to make a compelling case for me to upgrade not force me.

I can easily. It's faster both in load and in games. Has a much better GUI, and a better self updating system (you don't have to restart as often as W7, and you won't be spammed with restart popups). The W10 update spam will stop at the end of this month and you will have to pay for it.

for that exactly?

have you seen the pathetic increases from Async in Tomb Raider?

implementing dedicated HW cores solely to Async Compute is a waste in power over diminished returns

Only NVidia is experiencing performance decrease in DX12:

Granted, in some instances, the max fps can be lower on AMD hardware, but is usually offset by an increase in the much more important min fps.

-stuff-

It's a matter of princple: I cannot support a Company that has such a blatant anti consumer attitude imposing upgrades on unaware users under all matter of excuses and having so much telemetry bullshit on by default and resilient to turn off. I don't give a fuck if it's a magical 150% performance increase and gives great VR Blowjobs, I won't upgrade just because Microsoft says I should.

If they haven't pulled any of the bullshit above I would have considered an upgrade a lot sooner. At this point however gaining a few FPS on a few games and the rest of your claims is not worth voluntarily and irrevocably surrendering my ability to control my motherfucking OS and updates.

So seriously move on.

in 7y it's like ~90% improvement, based on avg FPS

or roughly, 13% per year

if you take 7 years, yes, but if you look more closely 60% of that happened in 2 years when sandy bridge dropped. Since then the increments have been underwhelming at best.

But seriously, you can just turn off that stuff. If you haven't done that on W7, it has the telemetry stuff too.

I got an i7 4790k on my gaming rig @ 4.4Ghz Turbo boost disabled. Got my 7870 at 1266Mhz (lol RX 480 boost clock). Frame rate hovers around 60-65fps low 50s at the least.

I use a blend of low to medium settings @ 1080p. Still ooks glorious on my 4k Philips display.

I emergency sold my GTX 960 for 150 bucks a couple weeks back and got a 7870 for 75 to hold myself over for a custom RX 480. Lol was worth it. I can still play all my preferred games at 1080p and put 75 toward a new graphics card.

Probably not after 60 FPS for most people. I can actually see a difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS, it lies in how smooth the game runs: 30 FPS is choppy, 60 FPS is smooth. Beyond that, I don't know... :/

Depends on monitor refresh rate: most monitors run at 60 max so the only difference is never going below 60 minimum so eliminates the occasional hiccup you might perceive.

If you have a high refresh monitor they usually can refresh at 75hz, 90hz, 120hz and 144hz or beyond and that makes it smoother and smoother it is fairly noticeable but very few people have high refresh monitors: people usually go for higher resolution instead.
