This doesn't seem like a leak to me, more like speculation made to look like a leak. It may turn out to be correct speculation, but at this time i consider it just speculation. But we can look to the past relations between the AMD *80  series and the NV *60 series to assume what it's gonna be like in price/performance

Intel 4770k@4.6GHz, ASUS ROG Maximus VI Hero, Kingston HyperX Beast 2x8GB 2400MHz CL11, Gigabyte GTX 1070 Gaming, Kingston HyperX 3k 240GB - RAID0 (2x120Gb), 2xWD 1TB (Blue and Green), Corsair H100i, Corsair AX860, CoolerMaster HAF X, ASUS STRIX Tactic pro, Logitech G400S, HyperX Cloud II, Logitech X530, Acer Predator X34.

Nvidia's x60 was never more powerful than AMD's x80s (280 vs 760, 380 vs 960, 380x vs 960 cuz the 960 is more expensive here)

Will the 1060 change this trend?

we'll see

If the 1060 is better than the 480, and a similar price, AMD are pretty fucked

So this is supposedly 15% better in games, 25% better in VR and 45% more power efficient (albeit in what would be cherrypicked games - assuming this is even real).. should be interesting. Although we should all learn by now to not trust leaks and whatnot. The grain of salt with this one is real.

Based on this, to be competitive with the 480, it should preferably be below $300 USD but idk if NV will do that

Also even though everyone should be able to see that graph is highly misleading, people will still be tricked by it lol

For 1070 with a $449 price tag. I can't see Nvidia will be able to price the 1060 below $250 to match the 480. The price gap is too big to the 1070.

Oh, I forget. Nvidia will play the same trick MSRP $249, with Founder's Edition $329... :)

I dont' think Nvidia would directly refere to the RX 480 by name, tey usually just write "competition" or something similar, I don't remember seeing either manufacturer comparing their new card to a name-and-brand. Or?

the founders edition really fucked up Nvidia's prices.

the cheapest 1070 here is more than $450 dollars (around $480).

Yeah, but according to rumors. The 10xx series cards is the fastest selling Nvidia card ever. People will sell their kidneys just to get one, haha.

I would expect the GTX 1060 to give better performance than the RX 480. Imagine if it didnt, then the perfomance gap between the 1060 and the 1070 would be even bigger than it was last gen for the 960 and 970. I'd expect 249$ launch price MSRP and 980-like performance with 4-8 Gb of VRAM.

AH, Nvidia cards, At 250 dollars ?!!? In what fairy land would that happen ?!

Having to compare the RX 480 with the GTX 1060 is pretty dumb on Nvidias side, cuz price to performance gab is going to be huge IMO.

huh? didnt the 960 launch at $200-250? and still is that price?

You can get them right now for $160, nvidia could easily launch the 1060 at $200- $250

What might eventually happen? It'll be a bit faster, and cost a bit more. Brand differences are probably more important than raw performance here. Once old stock of 960 and 950 go down I'm sure they'll fill with 1050 eventually too.

If the 120W claim is correct though, I think you can bet that factory OC cards will be nudging towards 150W...

But will it? That will be half the price of 1070. People will just buy two and SLI them to beat the 1070.
