Watercooled GTX 1080s OC to 2.5 Ghz And Out Preforms P100

... And why would you think that?

Saying as GDDR5 isn't a massive (if one at all) bottle neck, and GDDR5X is roughly 25% faster assuming no other changes are made to it's memory interface then It'll be the same (memory speed- performance) if the rumors are to be believed, It'll coincide perfectly with the performance of the 1080.

And if you're talking about Overclocking then you can Overclock the VRAM too.

Hopefully... Just assuming Nvidia's not pulling a Fury.

Its the bandwidth @ 4k which will suffer

I can see a $1000 kingpin edition coming with triple 8 pin and 2500mhz stock out of the box.

Maybe if I win another one you can find someone else to buy it @Lays :P

I don't think you dark theme users are ever going to win that battle lol

They should just remove black as a color option in the text editor

That's insane. But i suspect the gdd5X ( 10gb/s out of the box ) will be a bottleneck and only hbm2 will be capable of handling that efficiently . That , and no cpu will be capable of handling it outside of 4k

A good i7 from the last few generations would easily handle this card. 90% of games these days are GPU bound.

Oh, so instead of 340 it's 374GB/s vs. the 980TI's 336, and you think it's enough of a difference to make up for the huge difference in core performance?

You are forgetting about the even better Delta Color Compression in Pascal. This is improved from Maxwell. Both of those numbers are calculations without said compression.

When does NDA end for 1080 benchmarks? Was it today or tomorrow?

Nope not at 1080p anyway.  Just look at DF's video comparing haswell e to skylake.  At 1080p with a titan x ( and this will be even more powerful),  the cpu was a huge bottleneck.

Which is the fault of developers, not the hardware. It's frightening how much performance is being left on the table by modern titles. I somewhat hope Zen is a bit of a flop just so developers can be forced to buckle down and really optimize code.

Could you share a link? I can't think of a single scenario where a CPU has bottlenecked a GPU with the exception of SLI setups
