Well, I've been toying with the idea of doing an interim upgrade build of my existing Spartan into a newer spec build for a while now... but the rate things are changing I'm struggling to lock down the final configuration for the next phase Spartan 2.0...

 

So in stead I decided, maybe begin with the re-shell and then at a later stage when I'm truly tired of the internals, do the rest in phases.

MUST HAVE THIS CASE!!!!

 

 

I know... it's massive! But good gawd! It's beautiful

EDIT: Hope they have a white or silver/titanium colored version... or I will need to do a lot of "painting"

if you are getting that case you better be doing a custom loop. Putting an AIO in a case like that is pointless given its size and cooling capabilities.

Agreed, but I'm not at that level of proficiency yet... so will do what I know

Watercooling loops are not hard, just expensive. If you want, i can help you part it out so there wont be any compatibility issues.

One of the things I'm still debating for the final 2.0 build would be either going with the Asus Z170 Deluxe or Maximus VIII Formula (until something newer comes along)...

So based on these two current choices, I'm contemplating two patterns for custom sleeved cables from @CableMod

For the majorly white mobo using say something like the Asus Z170 Deluxe:

 

For the lesser white content (mainly just LED's) mobo using say something like the Asus Maxiums VIII Formula:

 

I'd most likely also do some combination of custom colored SATA 3 Data Cables in the mix.

Just an update, renamed the rig from WarMachine to Spartan (You'll notice I've updated everywhere ) , and with that also the color scheme...

 

At the moment the custom cabling will be targetting ModMesh versions with the colors of red/carbon/black

I've been wondering on this case... it might be possible to run an SLI setup where the main card is traditionally seated in the mobo, but the second card can be stood up using the PCIe extender.... the only issue is if both cards are any of the Geforce GTX 10x0 models, I will need to run a HB bridge...

 

This will not work for a 90 degree ofset between cards... really whish Nvidia would support a flexible HB bridge design

 

EDIT: O well, seems I'll be sticking to the Evolv ATX Tempered Glass case then...

At the moment my plan is to use an Enthoo Evolv ATX Tempered Glass case in Anthracite Grey and then applying some visual customization using carbon fiber vinyl in red and black across the front and top (excluding the mesh breathing area) like car racing stripes almost.
