Fury x or 980ti

As the title says, and i can currently get a Fury x and a XSPC wb off craiglist for 630$ (has everything with it), or i can get a Evga 980 ti acx 2.0 and a Ek block for 789$ (new and includes tax). Also im going to add another card later. Which one should i go for.

the 980ti is a better performer. if youre going for performance get the 980ti. if you want to safe money get the fury.

Fury X looks like a better deal but the 980 ti has more vram which is good for sli and idk I don't really trust craigslist

980 ti is better, but not $150 better if you are actually planning to water cool the 980 ti. I would get the Fury X in this situation unless saving money isn't really the goal here and you just want the best performance you can get.

The 980ti is defiantly a better card, but the Fury X is cheaper.

 

I am assuming you are buying the 980ti new from a store and not craigslist.

Be a dick, low ball the FuryX down to $500 and hopefully they accept, if not I wouldn't go higher than $550 if I wanted it.

4k and up, go for fury x.

With such a Hugh price difference, it doesn't make sense to pay $150 rollers more for a card that is only faster in around half of games.

Idc for 4k much as to why I have ultrawide setup. Check for comparisons around here, furyx beats 980ti at high resolutions.

Go with the Fury X for windows 10...it has better performance. Vram doesnt appear to be an issue, unless you're playing at 4K or something

Easy Choice. If you want the fastes Card, get the 980Ti. If not, you can safe Money with the FuryX.

 

But its not only about the Performance.

 

That the FuryX is better at 4K is a Myth btw.

Even as an AMD fanboy,I have to say 980Ti,if you are interested in performance.

                      Efficiency

                      6GB GDDR5

                      Performance

                      Nvidia technologies (not including GameWorks,because this wont even run most of the time on Nvidia and AMD with high FPS)

                      High overclocking potencial

                      High FP32 performance

                      Price/Performance (Titan X about 1050$,980Ti same performance for about 400-300$ less)

                     

                     Fury X

                     Water cooled

                     Sexy reference design (Every Fury X is reference)

                     HBM memory

                     High FP64 performance

                     High 4K performance (Can beat out 980Ti sometimes,but mostly not)

 

Disadvantages :  980 Ti

                            Air cooled (Some air coolers can get good performance,so this point depends)

                            High prices (But you can pickup 980 Ti´s with the same price as an Fury X so this depends,too)

                            Bad FP64 performance

                               

                           Fury X

                           Only reference designs

                           First production charges had pump noise

                           All hyped HBM could not beat the competition

                           Bad price/performance ratio (As you can pick up 980Ti´s at the same price)

                           Radiator mounting location must be available

                           Still very high power consumption

                           Bad overclocking

So much bad information...

I would go with the 980TI since it is the fastest single GPU on the market right now on every resolution. I'm assuming the FuryX is used which means it could have problems, and likely won't come with warranty. So that might justify the $150 increase right there.

I'm also no fanboy, I normally recommend AMD cards for people on budget but at this tier you're best off with Nvidia.

GTX980ti. I have the Zotac Amp Extreme and it performs on par with the MSI lightning card in terms of overclocking. Also the thing never breaks 64C

Fury X is only to consider if you have or plan to get Windows 10 & DX12 games!

 

In DX11 and such which the majority of games are the GTX 980Ti will be the better card!

What I'm saying is that the game is not released yet and game-ready drivers are not complete. You can't judge Nvidia performance in DX12 until both are ready. There is so much misconception about Nvidia and DX12 it is ridiculous.
