HELP! My Intel core I7 5820k doesnt fit in the MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition?

I recently bought a whole new gaming rig, but the processor doesnt fit in the mother board. I dont want to try it with force because they bost cost quite a bit... Aren't they compatible or am I doing something wrong?

You need a X99 motherboard, not a Z97.

So...uh...RIP?

The sockets are incompatible with each other. 5820K uses LGA2011v3, while Z97 uses LGA1150.

You need X99, not Z97. Completely different sockets.

You didn't try double checking to make sure they were the right socket? Return the cpu or mobo and get a different one.

At least he went with a 5820K instead of a 6700K. Smarter decision.

they use two entirely different sockets . You need an x99 (lga 2011v3) board with ddr4 ram .

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

It only fits in the LGA 2011 V3 socket not the LGA 1150 socket. Sorry to break it to you but you will have to return your z97 board and but a x99 one.

The sockets are incompatible with each other. 5820K uses LGA2011v3, while Z97 uses LGA1151.

LGA 1150

If you bought everything as a bundle(I hope not), call and complain. If you bought everything individually, you may need to pay some sort of restocking fee when you return one of the respective parts.

We all make mistakes. I admire your audacity to build your own system even without proper research.

This, even if you think you know what you're doing.

Check your shit, add it to the cart, check it again, order it, read the order mail and check it again.
