Protip: Both cpu and mother needs to have the same number for it to work with each other.

CPU is 2011-3 then board must also say 2011-3. If your cpu is 2011-3 and board says 1150, then it will not work with each other.

No, op can return the board and get a x99 board.

Depends on what RAM OP bought.

@SMaxTH

DO NOT JAM DDR4 RAM IN DDR3 SLOTS OR VICE VERSA

If you bought DDR3 RAM, switch out the processor OR The motherboard and the RAM.

If you did buy DDR4, just switch out the mobo.

Seriously that's like the bare minimum research you need to do. Put the parts down and do some proper research before even thinking of starting

oh shit i just have a heart attack looking at that

@SMaxTH

return the board and get the correct mobo

also you may need to return the RAM if you bought DDR3 instead of DDR4

X99 boards support the i7 5820K and DDR4

This is good advice. Return should be based on what type of ram you got, unless you're cool with possible restocking fees (which wouldn't be a big deal if they were cheap components, but they certainly are not).
