Fashion regarding headphones.

I would like some opinions from young people/teens/college students etc.

Is it dumb to wear Over-ear headphones at public? (If they look good. (as example Sony MDR 1R))

Do I look like a complete dork/nerd if I do so? (I never see people wear over-ears in public here...)

Lol. It's completely normal to wear headphones. You also could take a look at the Audio Technica ATH-M50X.

Is it weird? Not really, just a bit uncommon.

In college I see more people rocking full headphones nowadays than I see in-ears. Unless its in the library, that seems to almost always be an earbud palace of sorts for some reason.

JEEZ what's with you and rec. those awful ath-m50xs. If you're not careful, someone might take you seriously.

I was wondering about this myself the other day because I wasn't sure if I'd look a little stupid wearing a pair of ATH-M50Xs in public.

But anyway, I did and I don't think anyone cares!

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I don't want to be mean, but the M50s are the last alternative to look at if I want headphones that look good or fashionable. imo they are really ugly. :)

Yes, if you're in public they should either be discrete on-ears or in-ears.  Seeing someone with huge over-ears in public is laughable.

You may look a bit dork to most. But to me, You look like someone who gives a damn about music!

Wear it and be proud! You are an elitist music connoisseur! Those snobs don't know shit about music (most likely unless they're tech savvy).

And you look cool while you're wearing it. That's a bonus :)

And this is coming from someone who wears Sennheiser over ears in public :D !

Most people don't wear headphones cos they don't know any better or couldn't be bothered.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

I wouldn't call wearing them in public as 'dumb' per se...

but blasting music loud enough that the person beside you can hear your crap on a very loud train is dumb...

I'd opt for over-ears like the Sennheiser HD201s or the Superlux HD660s in public but carrying them around is a bit too troublesome...

If I see someone in public with huge headphones I automatically assume they are a douche

Well headphones don't have to be huge. But why would you make such a douchebag assumption?

I myself wear earbuds.

Yep. I leave the cans at home and use in ear headphones while out of the house.

That said, following my advice on fashion is generally a questionable decision.

I don't know why the guy suggested the headphones outright.

But, I would sooner take someone wearing m50's more seriously than someone wearing Krakens.

These days at college i see less people use in-ear and more using full size headphones, why anyone would think it looks stupid in this day and age is beyond me.

I always wear my Razer Kraken Mobile headphones as I find them comfortable and of good sound quality and I don't care what others think while i wear them.

Depends on how they look.

If they're ugly, or super bulky looking then it's not okay. It's time to stop.

I wear my MSR7, HD598 in public all the time. I don't see the problem.

I see people wear their ATH-M50's quite often in public as well.
