There was a guy at school wearing a league of legends shirt today.

There's a guy who upgraded his macbook pro to 32GB RAM for no reason other then to make it faster

Is he one of them guys who thinks more ram makes his laptop even faster?

One of the best topics I've ever seen is http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/53190-i-can-not-get-hard/

Well... there are people like me who unnecessarily upgrade their systems, running way overpowered systems for mostly web browsing (and the occasional game). (Like my current rig which is driving a single 1080p screen [for now]).

I know several people who are on the wrong side of the "more cores" argument. And the Apple = Godsend argument.

Latest dumb thing I've heard (in their words for added effect), "the more gigs a videocard has, the faster it is).

My only source is a former marine I used to know. That's what he said.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Well they're not wrong about thermal performance. AMD is really winning when it comes to designing toasters.

My 4170 is running at 40C max when gaming(212 EVO), 60 with stock cooler.

A cousin of mine owns an internet cafe. He also repairs computers. When I told him that I'm planning to build my gaming pc (specs in sig), he said, "i3 or i5, meh. Those are just the same. If you're spending that much, might as well buy an i7." I never asked him about computer specs again.

They basically are the same thing when you think about it- and IMO you would be better buying a second hand i7 instead of an i5. I got my i7 for less than an i3.

Kind of yeah. But he insisted that an i7 will be "faster" when gaming, and you'll see no lag with the highest settings and stuff. He never talked about the graphics card.

I'll provide more details when posting from now on. :D

Also, I don't really trust second hand products. Just my preference I guess.

Not really the same thing at all. All i3s are dual core, all i5s are quad cores and i7s are 4+ with hyperthreading (which can be detrimental to game performance in certain games). i5 really is the best bet for gaming.

Also I'd recommend never buying 2nd hand CPUs, unless you know it's a reliable source, given the punishment some of us here put our chips through.

Rages cause his room is too far away to get good wifi connection,

Has an ethernet port in his room waiting for use,

Moves infront of router.

He also thinks his fanless laptop is better than my pc.

I don't get why everyone thinks RAM is the great performance provider.. It's all in the PSU. You need to put all your money into the highest powered PSU you can get. All those w's that your computer isn't using are adding to your FPS. Seriously.

Nah, it's all in the optical drive didn't you know? The more expensive the optical drive is the more FPS's!

It is all about the motherboard stand offs.

The less the better, that is why I have none in my computer!

I seriously can't believe I never thought of this before.. Man, you must be able to play Crysis 3 at like 3000fps without all that extra interference! I envy you so hard right now..

Nah, its all about how much spare room you have in your case! I threw out my mobo, gpu, cpu and hard drive's, now i get all the FPS!

I'm fine with people who really want to know more about electronics, and pretending to be more tech savvy then they really are, as long as they're actually interested and learning!
However I can't stand people who base decisions on what they heard from their friend who works at the apple store, or saw on some commercial by dell. And afterwards defend these biased opinions like they were facts.

But really I just can't stand the blind commercialism, if your product is okay or above average and your marketing is off the charts you're basically golden and everyone will buy it and defend it for being perfect.
