So, Im sure you've all heard about Battlefront that comes with ONLY 4 MAPS and NO campaign Is going to cost 60USD, and If you want another 4 maps In DLC you'll have to buy a season pass for 60USD (seperate DLC's probably even more), and the new Tomb Raider game will have over 300 microtransactions, yes you read that correctly, 3-0-0. This Is Insane, and Im not buying Battlefront as a protest, and I hope people here aswell will see reason. Maybe next they will start charging us to play at higher resolutions and framerates, "BUY THE BATTLEFRONT 2 DELUXE EDITION and experience the game at 1080p 60FPS..."

(Just needed some place to vent)

What are your thoughts?

We are used to his, it has been like this for a long time and it doesn't look like it will change soon. Just live with it. That's all i can say.

That's pretty insane. I won't buy, but really I don't have time for many games anyway. I'd like to think I'm giving them the virtual finger; however, they don't care as millions will buy.

Sorry, it's 4 "worlds" from what I can remember, basically planets.

They probably have 2 maps on each of them.

Hahaha. God damn it EA.

Also, the Deluxe Edition is $10 for 2 EMOTES!

Also, OP , it's not the game devs who are milking us.

It's the publisher.

It's the current state of affairs. This adoption of micro-transactions is one of the reasons I dislike the majority of mobile games.

It's sad to see beautiful, masterfully crafted games chopped up and sold to us later separately. What happened to the days of buying TES IV: Oblivion, and then blowing your mind with the Shivering Isles DLC? THAT'S how it should be done!

The best way to tackle it is to not buy into it. Buy the base game, by all means, but don't purchase the Season Pass or micro-transactions. Simple.

If we all work together, companies will see that we don't want this bullshit. And maybe, just maybe, they'll stop.

What are your thoughts?

While there are many questionable decisions made by EA regarding Battlefront, Maps isn't one of them.

There are not 4 maps. There are 12, according to this article. There are 4 "worlds", with each world having 4 maps.

Yeah, no worries. The whole "Worlds vs Maps" thing was a bit confusing. They could have been more clear about it. Each DLC is going to be focused on a different "World", it seems.

Something like that, yes :P

There are three tiers. The top-most tier is actually good value IF you were going to buy all DLC at full retail pricing anyway. I personally don't plan to buy it at all, due to a lack of Single Player Campaign. But if I do buy it, I'm sure it'll be on some holiday Origin sale w/ all DLC included.

Last I heard, it was 12 maps on launch with free DLC including an additional two maps after launch. I have no clue what you're talking about.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I think he confused planets with maps, though why they only used 4 planets for the initial maps is beyond me.

I wish It was focused on the clone wars, wouldve been cool to play on Coruscant and around the Jedi Temple In a Jedi vs Clones gamemode.

Well, the game is primarily focused on Civil War (Episodes 4-6) era and post-Endor era. The game ties into the new Trilogy in some manner. Plus, SW:BF2 was primarily centered around the Clone Wars.

However, you might see some sort of Clone Wars era DLC. Though I haven't heard any mention of that so far, so I wouldn't count on it.

I'd love to see a Battlefield style, modern game, with the Battle of Coruscant (Eg: Opening scene, Episode 3), with Dozens or Hundreds of Capital Ships, and thousands of Fighters, plus troops on the ground, etc.

Well, doesn't matter much to me as i rarely buy games and ones i buy are for the purpose of Online just like GTA V. For me, the biggest concern currently in the PC gaming is how ridiculously demanding AAA titles are getting. I'm fucked with all these messed up and heavily unoptimized Console ports. I think PCs should be the first priority.

I think there's a limit on how realistic graphics, story depth, plot etc. can go but they keep pushing requirements further which doesn't make any sense especially for shitty games like Call of Duty recent releases, Witcher 3, AC Unity etc.

Come on man, you're running a five year old GPU with 1GB vram. How can you expect to run the latest games with settings turned up on a midrange GPU from the middle of the last console generation?

I'm ok with the premium thing, the premium in bf4 was great.

No one really plays campaing, would still be nice to have ~5 hour campaign I guess.

There's more than 4 maps I believe. 4 Planets with multiple maps on each, if I remember correctly, and different maps for different modes.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)
