What them in whatever order you want.  These kind of questions are stupid and a waste of time.

to be honest, the prequels then the original trilogy is the actual order you should watch them, but you don't really need to watch the prequels to see the force awakens, you can get away with just the original trilogy.

That's the order they chronologically released in. However, people feel that there's a better order to watch them in.

http://www.nomachetejuggling.com/2011/11/11/the-star-wars-saga-suggested-viewing-order/

Don't read that article if you want to avoid spoilers since you haven't seen them @Nexxus

TL;DR: Watch them in this order: IV, V, II, III, VI.

Why? Because it makes the most logical sense in terms of preserving what each film was made to bring to the franchise.

TL;DR: Watch them in this order: IV, V, II, III, VI.

I dont like that at all, and I dont care if people hate episode 1 I still think its an important part of the franchise and there are moments worth seeing such as the podrace and darth maul! - plus the origins on Anakin and seeing Obi Wans mentor

WHAT??? WHY???

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 DURRRR

Because the original trilogy are prequels, and I feel the story flows bet

Seeing who Darth Vader is, and seeing his story etc, and then watching the prequels to find out how it all started and where he came from - how he became that way

If you watch it in order, you miss out on that part, IMO you NEED to know who Vader is, to understand Anakin in the prequels

If you read the blog post I posted where I got that from, he states the reason he leaves out 1 isn't because it's a bad movie. It's because it adds nothing important to the narrative.

He suggests that if you like those things about it, you watch it last as an "anthology" type of film. Just for extra back story and some cool scenes.

He also explains that seeing Anakin's origins & Obi-Wan's mentor detract from the story's telling. It makes it harder to draw the parallels between Luke & Anakin.

Having seen all of the movies, I agree with him. But everybody is different.

I just find that order being logical, from the standpoint of someone who hasn't seen any of them. Like he mentions at the end of the blog post, it's almost like that could be the intended viewing order, since it works so well.

SNIP

Even if you feel it adds nothing I dont feel it takes anything away, evne if you just consider it a throwaway experience

It does explain where Anakin comes from, where C3PO comes from, where R2D2 comes from, how Anakin ended up being dragged along to be trained in the Jedi arts, more about the trade federation etc etc etc

While those things dont really NEED to be established if you are watching all the movies, have never seen them before, and are watching all 5 anyway, you may aswell just spend an extra 2 hours watching EP1

I just think 456123 is the best order

Again, the guy explains in the blog post why you'd want to skip those things and why they wouldn't matter. And again, anthology film tacked onto the end.

And again, people are different. 456123 might be best for you. But for newcomers, strictly logically speaking in terms of narrative, Machete order appears to be the best to me.

Ive read his post

I just find it hard for somebody wanting the whole experience to miss out 1/6th of the experience

Plus nobody should miss the pod race scene, (or maul fight) its possibly one of the coolest star wars moment, on a big surround sound it sounds SO fucking good
