Amazon prime free trial not so free...

I went for the trial so i could see what instant video was like on the PS3... I purposly set prime to a dead credit card as a fail safe.

After only 4 days signed up Amazon emails me saying my card has been declined for attempting to take out £79.

I thought to myself... I bloody well knew this would happen.

Just got off the phone speaking to Amazin UK... The lady was far from English and sounded heavily Asian and i found it incredibly hard to get across most of what i was saying, it was for her too which i explained to her.. I made her giggle because both of us were struggling and she kept apologizing... I sair it's ok and not your fault, i mentioned her English is very good it's just hard for me to get around the accent.

In the end she said i didn't even have a subscription to Prime on my account and she said any further attempts to aquire £79 i should phone up.

Great to talk to.. Good support, but that trial is not bloody free LOL.

It was free for me when I started. Unfortunately I never canceled. 3 years later I'm glad I have it.

next time, read the tiny tiny tiny text at the very very very bottom of the EULA/signup page... i know there is a lot of bullshit there, but sometimes it matters.... ive barely avoided subscribing to shit that way.

Yup similar thing happened to me. I had a 6 month trial, back when they offered it, and when it was expired I clicked "learn more" to see the other benefits because prime video and stuff was just starting to be promoted...

 

After I clicked learn more I was immediately  charged ~$50 (US student price per year) without any confirmation or question. I didn't bother trying to fight it since I was going to get it anyway but I found it really crappy to just auto charge especially when I clicked learn more.

Gotta read dat_small text. Pretty much every free trial nowadays involves your credit card beeing stressed after the trial. Maybe amazon does it directly.

prime is worth having IMO

Just checked on my PS3, it says sign up for prime which is perfect.

I do recimmend Prime it's excellent maybe i will invite the woman who i was on the phone to.. She actually seemed cool and fun :D

Pretty sure what happened is something along the lines of them trying to schedule the payment for when the trial was over, this was rejected and therefore they canceled your Prime subscription (including your trial).

Not really, I might just be lucky but normally when I choose the free shipping option it gets here in 3 days so the 2 day shipping is not a big deal to me anyways.

We get next day shipping here, so its 100% worth it to me, also amazon prime is good too, also unlimited photo backup and other benefits

 

also you can give prime to all your family memebers, and they all give me £10 a year to get free shipping :D

Okay not a bad deal in your case then. Most of their services I have no use for but if they had next day here man that would be great.
