The alt-gr (usually alt now) on the right side of the keyboard. Never use it and don't know anyone who does.

 

i think the alt gr and the second ctrl buttons are useless! thats all really

 

Alt-gr is absolutely necessary for me. @ and € are ctrl-alt-q and -e, respectively, and sometimes (I think in Linux) it only works with altgr-q/e. I don't think that's a problem for ANSI users mostly, but some other character ([]{}³²\~|) are accessed this way. 

 

EDIT:

I also use right ctrl to open new browser windows one handedly. Also possible to use it with shift ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Most of those "useless" keys are actually very helpful in coding

Any answer other then scroll lock is wrong.

im pretty sure its the ONLY key with no useful modern day function, everything else I can be being used for something or have used it for something.

Alt-gr is absolutely necessary for me. @ and € are ctrl-alt-q and -e, respectively, and sometimes (I think in Linux) it only works with altgr-q/e. I don't think that's a problem for ANSI users mostly, but some other character ([]{}³²\~|) are accessed this way. 

 

EDIT:

I also use right ctrl to open new browser windows one handedly. Also possible to use it with shift ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

 

 

Good point, but I think in the 15+ years I've spent at a keyboard I've very rarely needed to use alt-gr, in fact my keyboard only has 2 alt-gr symbols built in, that's € and ¦. I can think of numerous other buttons which could replace it and would be used a heck of a lot more.  

 

EDIT: On a typist keyboard or work keyboard I could see a use for it in a buisness but for the standard home computer naa, give me a collapse window to desktop key or something instead

I find that the Insert, Delete, Home, and End keys are useful to have when typing long pages.

Function Lock, just use dedicated keys...

Function lock is crazy useful for small keyboards. And since it mostly replaces caps lock anyway... I think even anoter space bar for people who like to use their pinky finger a lot would be better.

I found myself using them when using Word at university, when my PC was wanting to do it's own format thing.

 

For me the most useless button is the backslash button. I've never used it, and for me it just ruins the enter button when located like where it is in the image. I like having a tall enter button.

If you were a programmer, you'd be using that key alot. Either the backslash for doing cmd file location in windows, or using || in programming.

Information Security is my thing.

Running a entry/mid-range pc, upgrading it slowly.

The menu button which brings up a right click menu, just not where you cursor is, but usually on the top left corner of the current window. Why would anyone use that?
