1. I agree. And they also need to allow people to choose factions. I'm no rebel scum.

2. Possibly. Or reduced damage over range.. You know, the way that EVERY GUN EVER actually works in the real world.

3. I was more referring to the lack of control. From what I experienced, you can't control the speed of your fighter. It's even less than the fighter combat in SWTOR, which was already ridiculously terrible (not surprisingly, that was made by EA as well)

4. I agree. Grenades should be a pickup, ion shot should be a recharge thing. Having it the other way around makes no sense.

5. I disagree. I would use Battlefield Bad Company 2 as an example. There are a number of weapons in that game, and each, in the same class, "handle" differently. Some have a higher rate of fire, some do more damage, some have less recoil, all the weapons, within the same class, have a variation on this theme. Meaning there are a significant number of weapons to choose from, which allows the user to pick whichever weapon they are the most comfortable with. An example would be myself, I am perfectly capable of "sniping" with the MG-3 (the modern day equivalent of the MG-42). And yet I know people who can barely hit someone with it at point blank range. Variations on rate of fire, recoil, and power, offer variety. And not just in sound (as is the reality with Battlefield 3 and 4. Which is a major reason that I hate those games. All the weapons are the same, they just sound slightly different.)

 

To put it bluntly, the handling of your primary weapon, completely effects your experience in multiplayer.

Sure, just the infinite range part makes using particular weapons much less of a disadvantage (Like lol sniping someone with a pistol is just like halo 1 days...) I think once that is address weapon choices will become a lot more important. (and others less advantageous than they should be)

 

Supposedly you are supposed to be able to control the speed (it is a control), but I haven't gotten any luck doing it.

 

LOL SWTOR. Fighter combat was leveling only right? Plus achieves... I was a pre-2.0 dragonslayer and pre nerf- DM (although I didn't get Gatecrasher for a really really long time.)

After playing the Beta for the last two days I'm pretty sure I won't get this game. 

 

I won and lost on both teams during the Walker Assault. The re-spawn points are the worst for the Rebels I believe, as several times I would spawn in a trench right in the line of an AT-AT and would get cut down in seconds. Even when I played as an Imperial I witnessed no less than 15 people respawn in the same location, right under that hill where people would camp out and cut down the people just coming in. If you don't have a jet pack, you aren't getting on top of that hill. 

 

I think the devs were tweaking the Walker Assault while I was playing though, as when I started several hours before, the Imperials won each and every time. Then something happened and the AT-AT's were very very weak, in one play through they were both destroyed before they even reached the half-way mark on the map (roughly outside the Rebel base). 

 

The ship controls... wow... they were awful. The vehicles themselves really didn't seem too different from each other as their speed seemed matched between TIE Fighters, X-wings, A-wings. 

 

Turrets and Ion cannons were a bit clunky to use, but seemed realistic. I think the scope/zoom feature on them was annoying, but they were so powerful you could pretty much "one hit" someone and they would be down. 

 

I'm not 100% certain, but it appeared some of the vehicle tokens popped back up in the exact same spot round after round. 

 

I was under the impression that Thermal Detonators were "rare" in the SW universe... but in the game, everyone has one. As suggested, why not make it an item pick up? 

 

Luke and Darth Vader don't really seem to add too much to the experience other than the "cool factor". Sure, they can cut down (literally) a whole bunch of people, but they don't really add much to the experience of the map itself. 

 

The weapon selection is pretty limited, again, maybe this will change after the Beta.

 

I think the points awarded for killing other characters/players is too high. Several instances people in the ships would just go on strafing runs to kill off the Rebels/Imperials to get the added points and boost their point count. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like the Walker Assault map should be more about focusing on the objectives vs the PvP kill count. It would make for a more focused "mission" while playing online.  

 

The orbital drop map is fun, but several times I wound up on a team where people would just bail because they didn't want to be on the "Rebel" team, only to finish the match with only 4 players, and 8 Imperials.

 

The single player experience was a bit "meh". I realize it's a Beta, but the weapon selection was pretty limited and the best way I found to kill an AT-ST "solo" was to run up to it and stand below it and blast the hell out of it. I would just need to move back slightly to keep from getting stepped on. 

 

I do think the sound effects were very very good and matched the SW theme very well, but that alone isn't enough for me to get the game. I'm probably going to wait until it's out officially to see what the reviews of the tech community say as well as other gamers.

Well, this is nice apart from 1 thing. You can't trust them. I won't be suprised if this turns out to be a lie.

DLC guns are often over-powered if they are just gun "skins" then its fine cause its not better than any gun the players who do not pay get!

I had so much hope for this game... The first 2 battlefront games were mind-blowing. The disappointment is real

If it were F2P with a premium model like PS2 has i'd play and maybe even pay a little, but there's no way I can justify dropping $60 on what just feels like an incomplete battlefront game.

Strafing runs with the fighters is literally what you should be doing tactically if the other teams air support is out of action.

That's how air combat works.

Yea theyve been making rebalances and its helped a bit.

A lot of the rebel spawn issues has to deal with partner spawn option.
