Box Box Box - Sim Racing Players Club [Now Hype Train Enabled!]

Now that I skimmed through those vids, the 3rd one I have seen. Ultimately, I'll just have to try it out for myself. lol.

Just based on what those videos looked like - his inputs, reactions and car behavior, it looks, to me, a lot like PCars in terms of physics and grip, which worries me slightly. I was hoping for a bigger improvement. Maybe it will be, won't know until we try it for real.

If I get pcars 2 I will pre-order it in the last few hours before the "preorder" discount ends just so I get the discount. $10 off is a meal or 2 lol

$10 is 8 litres of gas for me, which is about 75km of driving if I am responsible

Dont be silly, dont pre order from steam at least. GMG consistently keep their pre order sales up for a few days after a game is launched and include pre order bollocks since the bonus is tied to the key not the time. GMG generally goes for a 10% off sale on games before launch, they have been very consistent with that rule so I dont expect it to change thats before you include any time based codes or something. Members get further discounts as well so keep that in mind those extra £1s do add up.

Haven't watched these yet, added them to my watch later list. Just curious, is the person who made these videos a backer of the game?

The guys over at PRD have noticed that those who happen to be backing the game tend to hype it more so than non-backers. Unsurprisingly.

Inconsistent is the best way to describe it. Goes back to the quote SMS always say, they have this thermodynamic warhead tech for their tyres. Thats lovely but I dont care about the potential off your tyre model, I had the potential to get an A in an exam and I got an E, they could have the potential make the best physics ever but if you input silly numbers its not realistic.

I'd say thats sort of what I feel, some cars did great in the intergration but with the models where there isnt a lot of documentation they didnt bs their way into getting the physics to work well.

There is a difference you cant always replicate, take the huayra from pcars1 and AC for example, AC got the aero profile code from pagani and threw it in the code the result was the aero looked the most natural ive seen it look in any racing game, pcars1 didnt get that, ive seen the code since it when open source and its not that complex but manually trying to replicate with 4 or so states just isnt gonna look as nice. Its the same with physics, theres areas where its wonderful and I muscle memory my way for breaking points and throttle control and the general feel of grip but I think pcars2 suffers from the same fate as rfactor 2, its too complex for its own good.

Each parameter is a guess if you dont have info on it. Take tyres for example, in assetto corsa on a bad day I could use calculated guessing for say 50 parameters to get things to work, rf2 its way over 100, the way pcars2 has shown tyres its the same.

Take tyre deformation for example. There is a 100% chance there is zero data on tyre flex before late 90s. How do I know that, well the technology just didnt exist to the point where the accuracy can be trusted, it wasnt focused on and we cant test a 50 year old pirelli for example, do you think the tyre has maintained its full performance over the years, my shitty pirellis tyres gave me(they poped my dunlops during a routine service fuck knows how) are cracking after 6 months.

Anyways the further you go back the harder it gets to model tyres and some sims react better to bsing your way into getting it to work. Pcars2 from my experience isnt doing so well in that sector. Their tyre partnerships have worked wonders I need more time on it to get a more accurate opinion and reading back I think ive actually used more metaphors then made points lol. ive driven about half a dozen cars for four hours so ill not lock in my opinions just yet its not a large enough sample size

long story short at its best in optimal environments the best cars(gte) felt similar to assetto corsa closer to modern raceroom gt3 cars, im not sure what to compare the radical againest though I dont think the tyres where the issue for that and the kart is a complete mess its not right at all. Im not gonna comment on the gt1s just yet I feel as if they just arent finished.

Ill be going back on Tuesday and ill pretty much have the entire day to play it unless i get bored

3rd in the championship is within reach... and those two guys just behind me are no joke. Yeah, no pressure, lol. Two weeks and four nights of racing left, starting tomorrow. Not sure I can pull it off, but certainly going to try. These guys are so hard to compete with, I'm just happy to be among the top 5. ;)

Lol, I did too. Then I practiced it until I could put in decent consistent laps and figured out how to do that last corner without dying every time and it became more fun. Still one of my least favorite tracks, but I can at least not tolerate it. ;)

I mean it is a AAA title, im holding out on it this time in the hopes its a decent PC port unlike FH3 was

I'm not that bothered about it, i have an Xbox 360 with Forza 2,3 and 4 and a wheel and pedals, that will do me for when i fancy to Forza, I just love Assetto Corsa at the moment, as its on another level to any other driving sim i have tried, with all the mods for it and online racing to come, i think ill be too busy with it to be bothered about F7.

Seeing how expensive it is as just made it a lot less appealing too. I think id rather buy a break mod for my pedals to be honest ;)
