Benchmark: iPhone 6s is as powerful as the Retina MacBook

jos
benchmark scores say Apple’s iPhone 6s brings insane performance improvements compared to last year’s models. In fact, the numbers suggest the iPhone 6s is as powerful as Apple’s 2015 12-inch Retina Macbook.

Looks solid score...But is there any app in store, that needs the power..

4K video sample from iphone 6s.. Now i get when they said desktop class performance, they where comparing it with their on products..

It's more like the MacBook is throttled to hell.

Do we even need that much preformance in a phone?

That'd be cool, because I can hardly get 3 fps on the OSX version of minesweeper at 4k.  Maybe it will display dank memes at 4:20 every day or maybe even every 69 seconds??

lol, because ARM has higher performance per watt than a Core M that throttles to hell because its only source of cooling is a thin aluminium shell. This wasn't going to be a hard benchmark to win.

Hmm... will be interesting to see how this compares to the new chip in the iPad Pro that's supposedly even more powerful than the A9, and also compare that to the new Skylake Core M processors.

Kind of what happens when you compare the most powerful smartphone ever to one of the weakest laptops ever. :P

We could also begin to see ARM processors in MacBooks.
