Wow - if you came over at my place a year ago you'd hang yourself - single 1280x1024 TN panel. Now a 1920x1080 IPS.

I filled out the remainder of a job application in-store once, and they had to put me in front of an old CRT monitor.

It made me ache with desire for 16:9 flatscreen low-profile digital CRT monitor to be invented. I want those insane response times and contrasts without looking so fuzzy. Looking at the cursor move on one of those things is sooooooo nice and smooth. and it kicks the crap out of that "Human eye can see only 30fps" thing there.

Him: "My cpu is better than yours, you have only 4 cores mine has 8"

Me: *proceeds to link 10 articles with benchmarks showing my cpu is better in games at 1080p*

Him "Idk who the fuck is tom's hardware or anandtech, or any of those sites, the guy that built my pc told me it was the best cpu out there"

Up until recently my mom's office used a PC with a Pentium 4 800MHz, 1 512MB stick of what I believe is DDR1 and a PSU that hasn't been cleaned in so long it legit had mud on it.

No problem playing Witcher 3 at 30FPS on a G-SYNC monitor.

Why use G-sync if your locked at 30? Assuming your monitors refresh rate is 60? (Even so 30 isn't playable G-sync doesn't alleviate the issue. As 30fps on a 30hz monitor would be the same as 30hz on a 60hz monitor. As a frame will be doubled on the 60hz monitor. Variable refresh was created to alleviate the mismatch. An examples would be having a game run at 50fps on a 60hz panel, the extra 10 frames will be doubled frames creating the "stutter".

My monitor is not 60hz, 60hz is a slideshow.

 

 

Also 30FPS on a G-SYNC monitor feels like ~45 and 45 feels like ~60. I play at 30-40FPS because I play Witcher 3 at 5K DSR, otherwise I'm getting +70FPS on 1440P.
