Good but I wouldn't pay that much just for a gaming laptop. I like the portability but I rather just get a netbook for school and have that much money spent on an actual gaming desktop.

Hmmm so the gpu is not MxM? Shame. Well my 3 year old M17x R4 is still kicking so till next time I guess. Still I would have liked it better if it was black or red.

Yes, but no one is making it at this moment....

so even the Samsung's rumored 18" tablet is equipped with a 1080p panel, instead of a 4K panel...

I just hate the 'gamerness' of it, I don't need a desktop replacement, and besides the point, it's way to expensive for me, even more so for someone in uni. Sorry if I'm coming off as a dick, but I just kinda hate it.

If you don't need a desktop replacement then why do you care? This product isn't for you

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

And for the second time.....nobody cares, because it'll cost more than a car in Australia......

I once saw an Alienware for almost $6000 in Romania.

It had SLI 580M-s , so that should tell you that it was a few years back.

Now I can find Alienware 17" laptops for the mere sum of $4000.

At this point it is so heavy and thick, that it has none of the advantages a notebook has. I do not see why one would go for this instead of just building a mini-itx desktop. It would be cheaper and more powerful.

The World's most powerful laptop has been unveiled. With a full 4790K and dual 980M cards. I am sure that all the rich 12 year olds will be happy now. This has to be my dream laptop (shame it doesnt have an RGB Mechanical keyboard, then it would be perfect)

Specs  (top model)

i7 4790K

Dual 4GB 980Ms

512GB SSD + 1TB 7200rpm hard drive

86W Battery

1080p display

Buy now here: http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-18/pd.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn

It takes me a year to save up for a $1000 machine! Why you do this, Alienware, this is why I build my own.

starting at 2499?! hell, are people still complaining about apple being expensive?

another brand being overpriced doesn't preclude Apple from being overpriced as well.

MacBook Pro Retina gets you an R7 370M and either a 4980HQ or 5950HQ at $3100 with a 1440p display. Yes, Apple is still expensive, though the two XP941 SSDs inside are very nice.

For $2500 you get 2 GTX 980M in SLI and a 4790K. Alienware is a bargain by comparison.

my only complaint

Weight: 12.064lbs (5.472kg)

That is an issue my 18" is heavy but they are not quite meant to be laptops

They are desktop replacements, that you can move from room to room, take to work, take to a friends, take to a LAN

They are not really designed to be taken to starbucks or used on the train or taken around everywhere

But if you want portability without sacrificing much power, that can help you be mobile compared to a desktop and can afford the price of entry, its a beast

They are not meant to be standard laptops for everyone to buy, its a niche market

Desktop - Corsair 300r i7 4770k H100i MSI 780ti 16GB Vengeance Pro 2400mhz Crucial MX100 512gb Samsung Evo 250gb 2 TB WD Green, AOC Q2770PQU 1440p 27" monitor Laptop Clevo W110er - 11.6" 768p, i5 3230m, 650m GT 2gb, OCZ vertex 4 256gb,  4gb ram, Server: Fractal Define Mini, MSI Z78-G43, Intel G3220, 8GB Corsair Vengeance, 4x 3tb WD Reds in Raid 10, Phone Oppo Reno 10x 256gb , Camera Sony A7iii

But that price is for the mobile cpu and dual 970m SLI and no ssd. The cheapest for 4790k and 980M SLI is actually $4,150. And that is without an ssd.

Desktop i7 4790k on laptop factor is great. However, $4.7k i would say no because you can build an X99 with SLI GTXX 980TI plus some badass water cooling setup.

Y U NO 1440P ALIENWARE?!

Seriously, there's dual 980Ms in there, and I think each one is about equal to a GTX 970. And unless the display is 120+ Hz, there is literally no point...

Well, there may be some workloads that utilize graphics cards other than games, but for that you'd usually want a Quadro anyway. But whatever floats your boat.

Why is the God of Hyperdeath SO...DARN...CUTE!?

Also, if anyone has their mind corrupted by an anthropomorphic black latex bat, please let me know. I would like to join you.
