3440x1440 gameing graphics card

Hi guys!

Very soon im going to buy a LG 34‘um95

Its a great monitor but its 3440x1440 and im useing asus gtx 760 ti 2gb

I hope that the 760 can handle the 3440x1440 for quite some time until i upgrade

I realy think for  2 options:

R9 290x

R9 390

maby a 970 but i think amd now are the better for the current gen at this price point ( i dont have the money for a good 980 :)

Are the 4 gigs more ram worth it and what can you recccomend me for autoCAD diablo3 Premiere Photoshop and maby some Witcher 3

And what brand can you recomend

Im going to buy it after 4-6 mounths

Are the prices going down and are there going to be new releases of new video cards in this period

A lot of questions sry :D

Witcher 3 will have a VERY hard time running on a 760 at 1440p Ultrawide - I'd say 390 as it has a larger frame buffer and lower TDP

R9 390,

If it's a lot cheaper, get the 290x

I would change the monitor to something like a 34UM67 and instead get a 390X/Fury with the money saved, plus you then get freesync

honestly I'd say a 980 Ti, since going for a beefy monitor will require getting a beefy card, but since you wont pay that much a 390 or 390x would do the job

Early 2020 Build : Intel i7 8700k // MSI Krait Z370 // Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Aorus 5700 XT // NZXT H500

Early 2019 Build : Ryzen 2600X // Asus Tuff X470 // G.Skill Trident Z RGB 8x2 16GB // MSI RTX 2070 // NZXT H500

Late 2017 Build : Intel i7 8700k // Asus Prime Z370-A // G.Skill Trident Z 8x2 16GB // EVGA GTX 1080 Ti  // NZXT S320 Elite

Late 2015 Build : Intel i7 6700k // Asus Maximus VI Gene Z170 //  Corsair LPX 8x2 16GB // Gigabyte GTX 970 // Corsair Air 240

I would try and get a 390 or a cheap second hand 290x maybe able to crossfire 290 (not x's) cause they have 4gb frame buffers, and i am sure dual 290's or 290x's would actually be great for that, just not reference ones because they have awful cooling, and u lucky bastard with that screen!!!!!

but its an 1080p with lower pixel dencity than a cheap 24 inch 1080

i want a real upgrade and as what i know for the freesync its not worth the tradeoff for the great rezz

i can det a 390x but is it worth?

at least ~70€ less ( EG the 390 is ~360€ and the 290x is ~290€ )

980ti if you can afford it.

Out of the more affordable options 390x is the best.

I found this

http://www.sapphiretech.com/productdetial.asp?pid=D2A0C6FA-1869-43E2-A153-789438696A42〈=eng

and i think its the best for my setup

what do you think?

Yeah that will do decent for that resolution. However if you're looking to really max games out at 60 FPS at 3440x1440 you're gonna want a GTX 980 Ti or Fury X. The 290X however will do pretty solid job at decent settings at that resolution.

What CPU do you have? Ultrawide setups require a bit more CPU power than traditional monitors because there is more on screen at a time.

Intel i5-4690K @ 3.8GHz || Gigabyte Z97X-SLI || 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 1600MHz || Asus GTX 760 2GB @ 1150 / 6400 || 128GB A-Data SX900 + 1TB Toshiba 7200RPM || Corsair RM650 || Fractal 3500W

the recomendaition is 750 W PSU and i only have a 650W gold seasonic

No problem. That CPU will handle a fully overclocked 390x along with fully overclocked CPU and still have room to spare. They are very conservative with their recommended PSUs in order to protect themselves from cheap low quality PSUs.

I run a 290 vapor-x with 3770k and lots of other devices on a seasonic 550watt gold PSU. It's rock solid; I even tried torture tests on both CPU and GPU simultaneously. Furmark and Intel burn test. Totally unrealistic

390X is like a "budget 980"... its around 10% slower then the 980, but costs much less. Also, 8GB VRAM

just, whatever you do. DO NOT BUY ASUS STRIX OR DCUII or DCUIII CARDS FOR THE 390, 390X or Fury. These coolers ARE NOT good enough.

That'll be fine. That's quite a solid PSU and will have no problem providing that. PSU recommendations are almost always overstated for GPUs to make up for people to have low quality ones that can't reliably supply close to their max wattage.

And your CPU is good too.
