As one of the major tech youtubers Linus must start looking at frame times in his GPU reviews. Pure FPS is just not relevant anymore. Look at what PCPer and the tech report do, Frame Time evaluation is far much more of a representation of smooth, quality gameplay than just overall average FPS.

Linus in order to remain relevant when reviewing GPUs you must start doing this otherwise your GPU reviews are worthless.

If you follow these 3 tips you should have a blast.

i'm rather proud of this for some reason. http://imgur.com/6ttS5XZ

u call his reveiws worthless. shots fired!! (bang bang)

No shots fired intended, I know it sounds harsh but in terms of helping with a purchasing decision yes worthless is unfortunately what they are, average FPS is simply not a valid metric on its own to determine the quality of a card. I would much rather have a card that produces more consistent frame times than a card with the best average FPS, the gameplay experience will be far more superior.

Yes.

This other review site I follow has been doing it for ages

While this is a good idea you also have to take into account that he is much more directed at the main stream viewers than PCPer is. Think about what the average viewer of LTT would want not just the super techy one. I do think that they should try to do written reviews which it would make sense to include those numbers in.

I think I recall Linus explaining that they only those reviews to compare graphics cards to each other, therefore it isn't really of importance.

A #firepole would add value to his GPU reviews as well!

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

This is just not the case, frame time analysis tells you how good a card is at frame pacing games on their own, If it was down to the raw FPS average from Fraps which is what Linus does, or the observed average with frame time percentile figure, Id pick the latter every time. To remain relevant in reviewing graphics cards LTT must start doing this at some point.

Once you move to an Adaptive Sync Monitor the FPS means Alot less then it did before.

Because some games you can get 120+ fps and you will still see stutter on a non Gsync or Freesync monitor.

But on the monitors which do adaptive refresh its always perfectly smooth and it dont matter if its 60 FPS or 120+ FPS its still the same smooth play.

I actually thought of that while writing my comment, just wanted somebody to confirm. Thanks :)
